- Wonderful chapter. I think you nailed Draco's characterization - slightly nosy, trying to turn over a new leaf, but still unable to recognize personal boundaries or the fact that he can't just undo his actions with a "sorry."

Each year questions were sent out to new first years so staff could screen incoming students for any potential problems. Minerva hadn’t suspected anything to be out of the ordinary with this year’s batch of students, but she was certainly surprised when there was. Severus Snape wasn’t expecting a scrawny boy to turn up at his office covered in filth and in desperate need of attention.
