Sickly and neglected by his caregivers, little Harry would not have survived were it not for the mysterious dark angel who watched over him, caring for him when he was sick. Harry never knew his name, until he attended Hogwarts and discovered a certain teacher bore a remarkable resemblance to his savior.

Author's Response: yes, it had to happen sometime, and Ron needed a good smack upside the head. Eventually, perhaps Sev will clue Minerva in on his little secret and Hagrid also, because he does need help keeping an eye on Harry. Minerva would definitely approve of that relationship.
I for one love the religious aspect of the whole story I think it is very well done love the prayer very much I know any parent with a dying child has prayed that prayer. On another note; that little boy is in a lot of trouble – I know you said you weren’t going to do CP other than a smack or two but a spanking could be implied, because that little boy was very disobedient and should have known better. Author's Response: Yes, it was, since now Harry can love Severus without worrying that he is "betraying" James's memory. Severus really needed the emotional release there, and Minerva was the only one he would have allowed to see him fall to pieces like that, unless it was Lily and Hagrid, who had comforted him when he was 13 over his mom's death. You'll see what happens about them becoming a family legally next chapter. That prayer is very important and shows Sev's deep connection to God which is a focal point of this story. yes, Harry is in a whole lot of trouble, and Severus will punish him appropriately, as you'll see next chapter. Harry will be quite sorry, trust me.
Since I didn't get to review the other chapters - vacation has ended :( I am very happy that Sev is now legally Harry's dad, loved Harry's punishment including the fact he had to wait overnight for it - the things his imagination came up with was punishment in itself LOL. Also liked that Percy took charge of Ron - the only one who got away without punishment is Hermione Author's Response: And they'll have something to talk about for a LOOONG time, LOL! I probably will have the Dursleys punished as well, the removal of the money is a great idea! And so is seeing Harry happy with his "Uncle Toby" and living in luxury, hehehe! You're right about Harry's punishment and imagination . . .a guilty conscience is the worst thing. Percy wouldn't let Ron get away with anything and actually Hermione feels guilty too and was given a lecture as well by someone . . .you'll find out later on.
Author's Response: You're absolutely right. Being an Animagus is very beneficial to Harry as it was for Severus as well. Neither of them had happy childhoods and being a leopard cub was like gaining a second childhood in a way.
The whole saving people thing or in this case pegasus saving thing is just in Harry's nature, he would never help something die. Harry is strong magically and should be able to protect himself and the pegasus for a good while until Wraith/Sev, Rellah or even Swift might be able to come in time to help fight Author's Response: yes, Harry does need friends, even in his Animagus form, and the foxes are right up his alley. Harry would never try and help someone--or something--to die and saving the pegasus is a must, as you'll see. You'll see just how strong Harry is magically next chapter, which is now up! Thanks for your wonderfully insigthful reviews!
Author's Response: Exactly right, and Sev realizes that the child needs a lot of reassurance, even if he won't admit to it. Harry isn't used to being around people who care about his wellbeing and he's not used to thinking that how he feels or what he does matters to anyone. it's all very new to him and it will take him awhile, the whole summer, perhaps, to get used to it. Thanks for the lovely review!
Ron is a prat and is becoming an even bigger prat than before... I am glad that Harry did not notice his jealousy to spoil the party. Jealousy and Envy are two of the seven deadly sins and Ron is falling big-time; while Hermione can begin to see Sev like her “Hogwarts dad”, Ron just doesn’t have the maturity or the heart to appreciate anyone other than himself, Ron is proving to be no kind of friend at all. Author's Response: You'll see the Pensieve memories in a few chapters, it'll be really emotional. Ron . . .he is very immature here and has a good deal of growing up to do. His jealousy blinds him to the truth. His envy is going to come back and bite him in the ass, as you'll see, and then perhaps he'll learn something. Hermione has always been able to see behind masks and has always known that Severus was more than what he seemed, she is intuitive as well as book-smart.
Sev has found himself another imp to be guardian to. The golden trio are now in his care. Has Hermione figured out that Sev is Uncle Toby as yet? Author's Response: Yes, he now realises the error of his ways and will continue to think about it when Harry speaks to him as well. And yes, now Sev has another child to guard and protect, the poor man! Yes, Hermione knows about Uncle Toby, Harry told them everything when Snape adopted him. It wasn't mentioned, I know, but they do know Snape's alias.
Sev kicked butt in this chapter and while the two would have returned with possibly more muscle Sev has the law on his side he could have gotten help from others (as bad as it sounds)Dumbledore or even Malfoy would have the power to overturn someone like O'Shea. Harry has to win...could you imagine the evil and corrupt things a man like O'Shea could do if he had the boy-who-lived in his employ - Sev did not weigh the implications of this deal again - what was he thinking. I think Sev deserves more than a smack. I look forward to the coming chapters with baited breath; as usual you have me wanting more. Author's Response: technically, Severus has the law on his side, since O'Shea did abuse Boreal, however they have no proof save the pegasus himself and I don't think the word of a non-human creature, remember the Ministry is prejudiced, would be able to stand up in court. Plus O'Shea has tons and tons of money and can easily tie Sev up with court fees and appeals and whatever till kingdom come, he would go broke just trying to counter all the legal stuff. Plus while Sev could take on two or three wizards and dust them, even he would get exhausted from that after awhile, and he could never approach Lucius, since Lucius would want to know why Sev was concerning himself with Harry. As for Dumbledore, well, I don't know how much influence he would have had, but Severus would never go begging to him for help. Yes this race is dangerous, but remember who Harry has on his side, the premier racer Boreal, who O'Shea wants back desperately--why? Because he has the best shot at winning obviously, otherwise why bother looking for him? Severus realizes this, of course, and he will do everything he can to make sure Harry is safe while he flies and then all he has to do is win and they can never touch Boreal again, legally or otherwise. Sev is betting on Boreal to bring his rider home safe, and it's a good bet. Firefox won that race twice because he had a bonded rider on his back, but not all pegasi will find a rider to bond to, but those that do can fly ten times better, and that is also a point in Harry's favor.
Author's Response: Great and yes, the should win. |
