The sequel to Never Again!

Things are going well for the Snape family, after the near disasters of the past year, except for a few minor mishaps. But when Harry meets two new Muggleborn witches in his primary school, one of whom has a mother Sev decides to date, Harry must realize that he’s not the only person in his father’s life anymore. And so, like any child, he must go through the sometimes frustrating, occasionally funny, and totally bewildering process of growing up, with help from Tobias, of course.

clap clap clap clap, please take your bow.
Wonderful story I loved it from the very beginning to the last !. I would love for another sequel, maybe when Harry and Lexy enter Hogwarts. But the only problem I have is that with Harry and Lexy being at Hogwarts Sev, Alaina and Eileen wouldn’t be there; unless Sev gets tired of long unpredictable hours at the hospital and Albus offers him the potions master job at Hogwarts and/or adds a class for NEWT students in healing practices – then the entire family could move – including Inky Hagrid definitely wouldn’t mind even though Inky would stay in the Snape’s apartment – Alaina would make a wonderful muggle studies teacher, lots of house elves to baby sit (I could see a lot of mischief for a little three year old in a magical castle – especially one who has a big brother and sister and Uncle Al always covering for her LOL). Instead of Volde being the big bad guy it could be the Council of Threttan, through Sanguinius they realize that Harry and Lexy are powerful wizardlings who could be used and sacrificed to bring about some apocalypse or something.
I don’t mind the prequel but I would forever be reminded that Lily would die in the end so it would be a romantic tragedy.
Looking forward to your other stories as well – another plug for Hide Away
Thank you for your story it certainly made many of my evenings brighter

Author's Response: Yes, that could definitely work for a sequel, thanks for the great ideas.  As for the prequel, I've already thought of a title for it called Where Shadows Go, it would be a real bittersweet tearjerker for me to write, but I think there's a really good story in there and the moments with mischievous toddler Harry would hopefully balance out the tears.  And I'll work on Hide Yourself Down in the Bayou soon as I finsih Heir to Prince Manor.

When Harry wakes one morning, he discovers a badly injured Snape in his living room, and tries to hide him. But Petunia discovers them and reveals a secret she has kept for thirteen years--one that will change the course of Harry's life forever, and Severus's as well. AU, pre-GOF.

Title: Chapter 10: Nobody's Son . . .But Mine 20 Jun 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
Sev was right to show Harry Draco’s letter, that and the talk after should let Harry become more tolerate to Draco, but unfortunately Harry is a teenage boy so I’m sure that as soon as Draco steps in there is going to be trouble.
Albus is mad, he is a meddling crazy old coot – the saying ‘the path to hell is paved with good intentions’ comes to mind, Albus has convinced himself that his actions are for the greater good, but his actions just hurt the people who he exploits. It is obvious he had Sev play dead only to get him away from Lily – just because she was not meant to be with a Slytherin but with a Gryffindor golden boy like James – it was for no other reason it had nothing to do with defeating Volde, but Albus may have convince himself in his mind that this was what was right. He has done the same with Harry, deliberately putting him in an abusive home for him to suffer – he risked Harry becoming an angry revengeful individual (I wonder if he left Tom Riddle in the orphanage for the same reason). Did Albus not consider that training Harry to use his power from early age would have made him into a more powerful wizard (or maybe he does not want a wizard even one dedicated to the light to be more powerful than himself)?
I would advise that Sev goes and get Harry to be legally declared his son, because right now it is just Sev’s word and Albus is so vindictive (or delusional) that he may have Sev arrested for kidnapping (with Aunt Petunia in hiding, she may not know what is going on) and have him kept in Azkaban without trial (just like Sirius – I am convinced that he knew that Sirius was innocent – but just did not want him raising Harry as he would have raised harry in wealth and with love – and this would not have fit Albus’ plan for Harry), it would be all claimed to be for the greater good (especially now since Sev is no good to him as his status as a spy has been compromised).

Author's Response: he should, but the rivalry between harry and Draco will not die so easily, unfortunately.   As for Dumbledore, yes he is a manipulative old man here, as I'm following canon more than I usually do, and eventually Severus will go to the Ministry and file a formal claim of paternity.

Sev has given them time outs, extra chores, essays, no allowance and they still continue; well it seems as if they have pushed him far enough I think they should both get sound spankings, they both know for Sev to resort to spanking they had to be very bad... hopefully the actual punishment and the shame they experience would help deter them for a while.

Author's Response: He's considering that option very closely.  You'll see what he does next chapter, so stay tuned! I should be posting it soon, like tonight!

Both boys regret their actions and they both give each other a chance then Sev's punishment was effective. Having them share a room will give both boys a chance to get to know one another and become brothers by the end of the two months

Author's Response: Yes, once they quit fighting and sit down and actually talk to each, they will discover that they've more in common than they thought.

I not only love the way Severus healed the shimmerling but I loved how detailed everything was you really put a lot of thought into every minor detail in the story, I guess that is why I like this story so much. I think Severus is now on a pedestal in his son's eyes; he is a hero to his son and I think the fae creature would agree with Harry

Author's Response: I try and put a lot of detail into most things I write, I like it when people can "see" what I see in my mind.  Little things are important, they make a situation seem more real, which is what I want my readers to feel, and I'm happy that you think I've succeeded! And Severus is now a hero indeed, to both of his sons, I think and the shimmerling, who does have a name, which you'll find out in the next chapter, does too!

Title: Chapter 23: The Face of Fear 12 Jul 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
I know that facing Vernon would have been very difficult for Harry and that is because of all the years of torture and abuse. Actually I would have thought that in a way Vernon would have been more difficult that Voldie and that is because Voldie was always the bad guy Harry has his magic and Harry actually turns into a different more powerful person when facing Voldie...like standing up to him in Book 1 and 2 ...Harry actually never really hesitates when dealing with Voldie...yeah is a great evil – but something in Harry knows he could fight him. But Harry is not like that with Vernon...Vernon is Harry’s own personal monster I don’t think that Harry would have stood up to the real Vernon not like he would have with Voldie. The torture Harry experienced was ingrained into Harry every waking moment... however it is a first step into facing his fear that Harry could confront Vernon but I think he would still need Severus to reassure him of his worth

Author's Response: You're right and Severus will be there for him when he needs him, though there is one very important thing Harry needs to do before the majority of his fear is vanquished.  And I agree that to Harry Vernon is more of a monster than Voldemort, in some ways, as are all child abusers.

Title: Chapter 24: The Dark Bond 16 Jul 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
That was terrific and it made sense that Lily did a spell before Voldie came up. The stand between Voldie and Harry was great but I have to wonder knowing the bond between Voldie and Harry did the real Voldie "see" what was going on, know he wasn't really there but...
Love the fact that Draco called Harry little brother it really showed that a brotherly bond has been formed.
    Great chapter

Author's Response: Well, he might have, but he's still kind of out of it, he doesn't have his full powers back and while he definitely felt the bond severed, I don't think there was much he could do about it at this point.  And draco and Harry really are brothers now.

Title: Chapter 26: Hedwig's Surprise 23 Jul 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
Love that Hedwig had babies little owlets are very cute little fuzzballs. What I like about the food fight is that the two boys are behaving like normal brothers, with no worries forgetting about everything bad that is out there, having fun for fun sake and that is good.
I agree with Sev, I don't believe in spanking a child for a bad grade (unless the child was deliberately skipping classes or deliberately not doing homework /assignments etc). What must be remembered is that before Harry had no one who cared about how he was doing in school he could have come home with all T’s (or all O’s) and no one would have cared (not just the Dursleys but even McGonagall ever called him up on his grades) – it was left entirely up to Harry to be self motivated and to set his own standards in his school work. Now he has a father who cares, who is interested in his development and his future (other than fighting Voldie) who can guide him and show him how to study and who Harry is now accountable. Deep down Harry knows he could have done better and now wishes he had done so to make his father proud but at the time there were no expectations on him. Sev should look more carefully at all his grades not just the one he failed but also the other subjects the ones he got A’s in as well (except potions - with all the help in potions I doubt that he would get another A in potions). Sev had given him lessons in writing with the quill etc now he should make sure that Harry has lessons in how to study.

Author's Response: That's exactly the way I was raised, as a matter of fact.  My father set very high academic standards, but if we happened to not be doing well in something, either he would help us or get a tutor to help us.  The only time we ever got in real trouble was if we cut class or never turned in homework.  And you're right about Harry never having anyone who gave a damn about his grades, except to make sure he didn't outperform Dudley, and how he had to monitor himself.  Now of course, Severus is there to make sure he learns proper study habits and all, and of course he will make sure Harry is doing his best in school once they get back there.

Title: Chapter 27: A Bit of Mud and Water 26 Jul 2008

love it the three needed some carefree fun. happy to meet Sarai looking forward to her visit

Author's Response: Yes they all needed time to relax and just have fun like normal people.

Title: Chapter 28: The Wizard and the Warrior 29 Jul 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
I really like Sarai and am so happy that Sev has someone who he loves and loves him back. She seems so spunky and a real warrior she seems perfect for Sev and he seems so happy smiling etc. I like the stories that she has told so far and look forward to actually going into the Fae kingdom...could see a lot of trouble when the boys meet Prince Balin (he seems to sound like a pompous git) can’t see Harry seeing eye to eye with Balin especially since they are going hunting for chimeras which if I remember my mythology is part snake which should be able to communicate with Harry and even if the animal becomes violent (which I doubt ...I would more guess that Harry would become friends with the animal) Harry has already killed a Basilisk, battled trolls and dragons so a chimera should be no problem LOL.

Author's Response: Yes Balin is very much an immature young man, he's around twenty-one in human years and just full of himself.  Sarai adores Severus and vice versa, they have a very meaningful relationship, she is one of the few Sev has ever allowed inside his mind and into his heart as well.  As for the hunt, there is an unexpected surprise that occurs, you'll see what happens next chapter.  Lots of dangerous things lurk in the Realm of Faerie.
