- I am so loving this story! I like how you do try to show Severus as a young man - so many fics seem to have Alan Rickman in mind (I adore him, also but...) - their Snape's are older and mature. Many seem to forget that canon Snape would have been 19 or so when Harry was born - your Snape still has that young feel to him. He would have been 21, 22 during this story, and he shows it at times!
Of course baby Rys is just adorable!!
I look forward to new chapters as you can provide them!

After the Dobby incident at the beginning of the second book, Harry runs away, and Snape kidnaps him. In an old-fashioned house with no comforts and a huge black dog, Harry finds himself at Snape's mercy as Snape plays mind games and makes Harry live through different scenarios. Though Snape seems crazy and psychotic, Harry begins to see reasons behind Snape's sporadic behavior.
There is corporal punishment, but it is different from what I've written before. This is a Mean!Snape story for the most part. If you're looking for a cuddly story, go elsewhere please.

- So, I just finished my third read of this fabulous story. I guess it is about time I wrote a review, huh?! How you kept Snape in character and yet made his adoption of Harry absolutely reasonable is beyond me - it was beautifully done!! No matter how many times I read it, when Harry curls around Snape, crying, saying that Snape needs him just as much as he needs Snape I am crying right along with him. What a wise, mischievious child your Harry is!!!
I hope that sometime you will feel inclined to give us some stories of the years that follow while Harry is in Hogwarts. I would love to see your Snape and Harry again!!!

- I am one of your quiet readers. I decided it is PAST time to give you a review - a glowing review, of course!! I adore this story - you make Harry being an animagus a believable transition, and I love how Harry and Snape have developed such a trusting relationship. There is plenty of excitement in your story, too, and lots of action so I am always anxious to see what is going to happen next!
I adore Shadow the most, so anytime you have him center stage I am very happy as well.

- What a fabulous chapter!!! Thank you Rae for translating so fast!! My head is spinning with all of the happenings. Thank you for letting US know who Remus and Dumbledore were talking about - I really couldn't believe that Harry was the son Remus was talking about, but I am glad I do not have to fret about that. If Harry is smart he will do what he is thinking about at the end of the chapter and ask His Snape about this - I am sure Snape would get to the bottom of it as quickly as possible. Oh, I am also intrigued by a Draco who threatens so much, has the dark mark, and yet is not actively trying to hex either Snape or Harry - there has got to be more of a story here!
I can't wait for the next chapter!!!

But Harry can't talk to Snape right now, actually, that's the problem. As for Draco... hum, there is much about him, I just settled his case, and it's chapter 45 in French ;-)

- Shadow the rescuer!!! What an emotional chapter!!! Seeing the events of Snape's so sad life playing out relentlessly was so hard. Thank goodness Harry was able to show Snape how important he was to one lonely teenager. Of course, in spite of Harry's last thought of the chapter - that Snape should have seen the expressions on the faces of Dumbledore, Pomfrey and McGonaggle - this chapter has made me think some VERY DARK thoughts about Dumbledore and what his intentions were!!!! I assume you will be touching on these in the next few chapters?!?
Author's Response: Thank you ;-) It was a hard journey for both Snape and Harry, but they did it! You're not the only one having dard thoughts about Dumbledore, SNape is not happy at all with him! His intentions were really honorable though, forced sleep as he claimed... but that went terribly wrong!

This chapter has it all - Shadow, intense moments, humor, a look at Harry's magic, talk of Lily - I just loved it. Thank you SO much also for giving Lily/James/Snape an appropriate sound track for their youth! I am a few years older than they would have been and the songs they listened to resonated for me as well! It surely drived me wild to start a fanfic about Harry or about the Marauders period and have music by groups whose members were either not born yet or in grammar school during the supposed period - GAAAH!!
I envy you being able to pop over to London for a short trip - have a great time!

- So worth the wait!!!! Our Harry has grown and healed so much - and I ache for him having to leave all that he so recently found. I know that the other Harry will be fine - he has learned things as well in his stay in the world where there is no Lily. I am SO fearful for our Harry and Snape as they come to terms with what they have lost - I hope that what each of them has found will be enough. (I ran out of Kleenex while writing this comment, darn it!)

- Another beautiful chapter - another cliff hanger!!!! Ah me, so I had my tissue box at hand before I started reading, and sure enough the emotions of Harry and Snape (both!) got to me very quickly!
I hope, hope, hope that Harry makes it to Snape in time - and that the gift from Our Snape can work for Lily. I have the feeling I will REALLY need the Kleenex when our Snape and Harry finally get together...

- Ohhh... you write so beautifully!!! A phrase here, a look there, the stage is set so simply and beautifully... and this time I had my box of Kleenex at the ready!!
I am thrilled that Harry arrived in time. He made a hard choice in who to save. I will wait (patiently!) to see if our Harry was with him the whole time, and helped him decide who to save first. It is certainly HIS pattern to want to save everyone (just reread GOF, and the challenge at the lake!) and it was a wonderful moment when Snape realized it was our Harry who was going to make what could be the ultimate sacrifice for his dear Mum.
This is of course, your playground of a story, and I have never been disappointed in ANY of the moments you have given us. I hope you will forgive me if I express a small hope (!!) that our Harry will not truly pay the ultimate price for his generosity. Perhaps OUR Snape is just smart enough that he will be able to develop a countercurse.
Be that as it may, thank you for a wonderful chapter!!!
