    Nice beginning.
    I was wondering though. Can't they rebuild Harry some normal looking ears, even if on the inside they don't function normally, just for aesthetic purposes and so that he doesn't have '2' reasons to feel different.

    I love how you have come up with an original plot-nicely done.

    Author's Response: hm, that's a good thought. I had honestly mainly only considered reasons they can't re-construct the inside, not the outer part. But I still don't think it would really make sense, for a few reasons. One is that nothing of that nature was discussed when Fred's ear was cursed off - obviously it could not be fixed back on since it was cursed off, but they don't talk about constructing a new fake one. Also, generally speaking, the wizarding world seems to be behind the muggle one when it comes to things they can't fix - surgery seems to be a somewhat foreign concept. But I will consider the matter a bit more. Thanks for the review!

    You have done a very good job with this story.
    I don't know anything about hearing loss, but it seems very realistic.

    I wonder who this boy is that resents Harry.
    I do hope that Snape and Harry can get past their grudges.

    Author's Response: I'm so glad you like it, and thank you for reviewing! Yes, the others got punished too, just not as badly. It will be explained a bit more in the next chapter. I thought about explaining further now but I don't think it flowed as well so I saved it for the next chapter.

    Poor Harry. He is really having a rough time adjusting to his hearing loss. I am glad that Snape is being sensitive to Harry's insecurities

    I think that Harry is beginning to be accepted though, with his cabin mates.

    Great job. Can't wait for the next chapter..

    Author's Response: So happy you like it! It is a very big adjustment, as you can see, and he's only had about 3 weeks to get used to it so far, which is really not must time in the grand scheme of things. Snape and Harry have a ways to go yet, but they are definitely starting to get there. And Harry and his cabinmates are definitely starting to get along, I quite enjoy writing some of their interactions. Thanks for reviewing!

    This is one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read and so well written.

    I had a lump in my throat when Harry was thinking of why the grave is unmarked. How very sad.

    I do love also that Severus got sorted into Slytherin and wanted a snake. Very cute.

    Sweet and bittersweet story. Loved every minute of reading it.

Harry's spiralling out of control. After a particularly brutal summer in Little Whinging, he craves power like he's never known before. It starts small, a curious, tentative dark curse here and there, nothing major. Accidental at first, really. It just keep growing and growing. He's addicted and he can't stop. Not that he really seems to want to.
Snape is sick of the boy's lack of concentration and respect. For his own sanity and his love for Lily, he realises that he must do something about Potter's recent behaviour. He doesn't like what he finds.

    Omg!! I hope that Snape finds out soon what's wrong with Harry. Harry needs help and fast, and Snape is the best person to help him with this addicition; probably the only one that CAN help him.
