- Great chapter. This is one of my favourite points in the relationship between Harry and Snape; where Harry gets misunderstood and Snape it grouchy towards him the whole time - it makes me angry when Snape starts behaving this unfairly to Harry (angry in a good way, 'cos it means I'm being drawn into the story!) but I enjoy it, and yours is well phrased. I liked how the handshake was compared to the square egg!
Anyway, it was a very enjoyable read and I hope you update soon!
Author's Response: I get really upset when Snape misinterprets Harry in canon. I think that's why these stories are the most popular, because we can soften him up. Even I cringe at Snape's meanness here, and I wrote it! :o) Thanks for reviewing!

- oh God, you can't leave it there!!! Well, I suppose you can, since you're the author, but this stuff is addictive! I can't wait to see how the feud between Harry and Noddy turns out - and who Snape believes over whatever incident is going to happen next. Poor Harry, getting nothing to eat. Please, please update soon, this story is getting better and better with each chapter!

- Dun dun dun! What a place to leave it.
However, I have to say that I loved this chapter so I forgive you. I can't pick out a favourite bit! Severus' daydream, Albus laying down the law, Severus' latest altercation with Harry... they're all brilliant and make me want more. Great update!

How old is Harry in this fic? Eighteen, nineteen? Or older? (Or younger)?

- The interaction between Snape and Harry is really sweet and a great start to the story. Wonderful idea for a real monster under the bed but I find myself wishing there was a slower build up the second time Harry saw the monster, you know, those really quiet but distinct noises that put chills up your spine. I like the barghest though, and the idea that Draco summoned it, well done.
My favourite bit: 'I thought I was going to have a nice Halloween, peaceful and quiet. Instead, I find my son summoning up demons' I can imagine Narcissa rolling her eyes as she said this.

Yes, it would have been good to have that kind of thing in there, like in a movie, but nobody was awake to hear it, Harry only woke up as it was right on top of him. But it would make for a really creepy moment if it were a movie . . . And who better to try and dabble in Dark magic than Draco? Though once Narcissa gets through with him . . .he won't be trying it again, LOL! You're right on the money with Narcissa's eye roll.

Snape, not Umbridge, is the one to discover the secret DA meetings in OotP. Using one of Aesop's fables, "The Wolf and the Lamb," he gives Harry a little timeless advice regarding the great game of life. - heh heh! The paper shreding sounds exactly like something a naughty puppy would do! Also reminds me of the one time my dad came home and mum saying 'I'm sorry, you should have got here sooner, your dinner's in the dog!' Thank goodness Sev had backups of those charts! By the way, did Summer eat the chocolate box? Or did she just bury it? This story is a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it. I can't wait to see what happens next chapter!
An idea, if you're interested; my dogs tend to end up howling if they hear anything strange - the church bells, the washing machine, you name it! I could just imagine Summer sitting in the middle of a room and refusing to shut up. Just an idea, though, in case you run out!

My beagle does that sometimes, howls at the top of his lungs, usually in the middle of the night, at some animal prowling in the yard or something.

- Ah, the fate of the mysterious box! heh.
Harry managed to stay home from school? Lucky little devil! I'm still amazed he managed to get away with it. For a moment there I was sure Sev was going to say no! I'm glad he did though, and I'm glad Summer's almost better! btw, she doesn't like charcoal? That just proves my old beagle was mad and would eat anything - hah!

Author's Response: Harry's a clever devil when he wants to be. My beagle eats almost everything, and my friend's beagle was even worse, he ate a punch, one of those tools that punches a hole in leather, and was fine! Amazing, right? But my Rocky survived jumping off my roof without breaking anything, so I think he's pretty amazing too . . .and insane . . .he was chasing a squirrel, I think. But that's a beagle for you! Never a dull moment with them.
