Slytherin!
Desperate to escape his guilt and nightmares after the third task, Harry transforms into a hawk by accident and ends up breaking both wings and suffering partial memory loss. He is found by Snape, and while the professor nurses him back to health discovers the truth about Severus and who are really his friends and enemies at Hogwarts.

- Really wonderful.
So, Harry has lost himself in the hawk? How long will it take for him to remember?
Will Snape be the one to check the owlry? (or someone else who thinks to use Hedwig to find our lost boy)?

Yes, he has for now.
It'll take him awhile for him to reconnect, he was hurt badly and a part of him doesn't WANT to remember who is, remember the reason why he sought Animagus form in the first place was to get away from his old life. So he's sort of fighting the memories subconsciously.
As for the owlery, you'll see what happenes with that in about two chapters. It's too bad no one ever thinks to speak to the owls, huh?

- NOOOOOO YOu can't stop there! Glares daggers at the screen. You CAN'T leave us there! Please tell me that Snape has SOME sort of monior on our poor young Hawk. (Wait, doesn't Snape have Wards like Crazy all over his private space? HOw did those dunderheads get in without being caught? I mean Harry, Ron, and Hermione were only able to steal from the classroom storage area when they made the polyjuice potion--But his Private Stores???? Those boys had best be caught and squashed or my admiriation for Snapes Slytherin sneakiness will be completely undermined.)

Snape does have things unseen in his laboratory, and ESPECIALLY on his private stock.
Those three are going to be praying for expulsion when he gets through with them.

- Oh, good, he does have up wards. Draco had best duck and cover once Snape finds his Hawk in bad shape. He's going to make that little blond monster wish that his father had already given him to old Moldyshorts for a play toy by the time Sev is through with him. :-> (evil grin) Can't wait!

- WONDREFUL CHAPTER!! Please tell me those boys spent the entire night in utter terror, unable to sleep, scared witless!
Now, for proper punishment. . . hmm, Can't be something too public--Snape wouldn't do that to his reputation. What could he do? What about having the boys learn something about proper bird care by completely cleaning out the owlry--without magic and maybe with at toothbrush?--for hurting our beloved hawk. For the Intrusion and theft from Sev's private stores--the three are the permanent potion testers in class for the rest of the term--especailly Longbottom's potions? Finally for the pivacy issue, Require the boys to take a truth serium (veriasirium or not) in the Slytherin common room for a specified lentgh of time and anyone can ask questions? Too Harsh?
Or, what about assigning them to be labor for Hagrid for the rest of the year?

Probably because that's what you or I would be doing if faced with the wrath of a certain Potions Master, right?
That's right, Snape wouldn't want to advertise that three members of his own House just ripped him off, forgot about that. I like the Owlery thing, some others have suggested that too, and the potion testers sound good, except I'm wondering if Severus could get in trouble for doing it? And the truth serum sounds good in theory, but I think the Ministry would have poor Sev's hide for giving such things to students, I remember reading that giving Veritaserum to minors was forbidden legally, though Umbridge breaks that rule once she's in charge of the school. Still, Albus is still in charge right now and he wouldn't like it. But it's still a good idea, maybe I could do it in a slightly different way, like with a Babbling Beverage? And working for Hagrid is good too.

- I love the punishments! And "dad" will know for all of the Boys? He-HE-He! They are so dead. Lucius is going to have a complete (albit noble in attitude) fit.
Harry!hawk is acting a lot like Hedwig.

- I love the bickering between Sev and his Hawk. So much fun. Both have wit and sarcasim galore--if only they got along that well when Harry!hawk is human they could have a lot of fun.
Oh well. This was wonderful and I'm looking forward to your next update.

- Odd to say for something so . . . sad, but Beautiful Chapter. I think I love Sev more and more. Two broken creatures drawn together. Harry is nearly as broken as Sev when he's in his human form, and hides it just as well. They both wear masks--and can't see past the others'. I hope that this bonding will allow that once Freedom is Harry once agian.

Author's Response: Yes, they both are, and that's going to be the real magic trick in this story--if they can both heal each other once they finally see past each others' masks. The bonding will go a long way towards easing their mutual animosity towards each other. And you can see how well Poppy, Hagrid, and Harry take care of Severus in the next chapter.

- Yep, Harry and Sev really are a lot alike--the main difference is the type of mask that they wear. Underneath those masks they are nearly identical.
