As far as Harry knew, it was all some sort of experiment that only Dumbledore could understand. He had no idea that the cat he had been given to keep him company instead of Hedwig over the holidays before his 3rd year, was in fact, his hated Potions Master in disguise.
Because of the Azkaban escapee, Sirius Black, Severus is sent to stay with Harry during the entire summer, never making a sound nor leaving the boy's side. He could not speak, nor could he defend Harry against anyone other than the criminal on the loose, however Severus does something that no other adult in Harry's life had done before...he listened.

- I always wanted to bite my orthadontist as well--not only did my mouth hurt, but he regularly threated to cut my (LONG) hair because he said it was in his way! I wasn't much better at the dentist as I seem to be ragher resisitant to most pain killers. Loved this chapter as "painfilled" as it was.

Snape loses control and severely injures Harry. Both of them must deal with the consequences. The question is, will they have to deal with them alone, or will they be able to work through them together?

- Yep,Sev is definately in trouble "DEEP" here. He is amazingly lucky that Albus didn't just blast him into the next century. Although I do think that Albus has it right that caring for Harry could be a life sentance (even after he wakes up--as I am sure you won't leave him a complete veggie--I'm trusting you here!)

- I think I like this story. I certainly like your Severus on the Hut-On-The-Rock. Do we get to see Sev take on the elder Dursley's? Will he wake them from a sound sleep and scare them witless or wait till morning and then put the fear of Magic in them? Sounds like fun either way.
