Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm glad you think that it is somewhat different, I'm aware just how many similar stories there are in the fandom and have tried to make this somewhat original in order to entice readers!
Harry receives a very special gift on his 16th birthday that leads him to the help he needs...Snape is finding respite from his growing pressures and discovers one in need of help. Despite himself, he finds he CAN grow close to another living being. Only..."everything would've been so much simpler if it'd actually been a cat"...

- Oh no! What a terrible cliffie! I really enjoyed the chapter though and am excited about the protective magic that Snape cast over Harry. I wonder how long it will last and if it will save Harry in other situations. Great chapter--I can't wait to see what Harry can do with Voldemort's powers!

- Oh my goodness, creepy! Loki seems like he's a different sort of werewolf than Harry or the professor are used to dealing with. I hope Harry doesn't ever have to fight him.
Yay for Harry getting new clothes and letting Snape buy them. I think that was my favorite part, when Harry accepted Snape paying for his things after a long internal debate. It puts him one step closer to being Sev's son. :D
Great chapter--I can't wait to find out more about Loki!

- Sadly, I do not read French, otherwise I'd be skipping off to read the next chapters! Yay for Sev wanting to adopt Harry! I got really excited there at the end, as well as during the part where Harry says he can't do it anymore and Sev's world shifts.
You know, I rarely ever feel guilty about what happens to Dumbledore in fanfiction, but I kind of feel bad for yours now. He wants poor Harry to trust him again so badly, though I doubt it will ever be the same after the abuse. Hopefully he'll be able to handle school a bit better now that he's been reassured.
Will Harry be able to handle going to school so soon after his ordeal though? I sure hope so.

I must admit that I sometimes felt sorry for Dumbledore myself, but he really is about to make some even more stupid mistakes, so... he somehow has to pay. gnak. Yes, I guess I'm bad with him ;-)
The matter of Harry's trust will be adressed soon, and come back recurrently, because really, that potion was a 'good' one ! But well, Harry is in good hands now ;-)

- Poor Harry--bad things just keep happening to him. I think Snape's privacy is long gone now, lol. I thought he would be really angry at Harry because of his mind invasion, but I guess the whole Voldemort thing made him focus on Harry and not the legilimency. He knows it's an accident too, I guess, unlike the bedroom incident.
What a nice and long chapter! I really enjoyed it. Send my compliments to Raewhit for translating it so quickly--this was a huge chapter! I didn't think you'd update so soon! Good work!

lol you're right, Snape surrendered quite much of his privacy, though at this one, the worst is still to come, poor Severus! Take a child in, forget about private life...
But yes, he's been great about the all thing, probably mainly because he is too tired to be angry lol, but he knows that Harry meant no harm to. He is just a poor lost litle cat, after all... or at least, that's what those big green eyes are saying !
And yes too, Raewhit is just the best, I don't translate half as fast as she does, she is a wondertranslator ! hugs to you, Cyn :-)

- Oh wow, Harry considers the manor his home? That's great! I thought Snape was going to ask to be Harry's guardian then and was surprised when it didn't happen. How much longer is he going to wait? Granted, it will probably make him really nervous, but they seem to be getting along so well right now.
I'm glad Snape didn't get mad at Harry for the legillimency thing from last chapter. He's being very understanding, which is great. I'm sure he'll be a great guardian when he gets around to it.
The scene with Harry and his friends was my favorite. I liked how Shadow couldn't understand things and then it finally dawned on him and the poor little guy jumped into a window (ouch). His confusion was well-written and it was nice to understand Ron and Hermione at the same time.
If you call this boring, I can't wait to see what you call good plot, lol. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Harry was so willing to get some kind of home, and his Shadow part was so possessive about this place... he will have to think about it seriously in the future though, the manor has a lot more to say. As for the adoption, well, I am writting this part just now, and it's... chapter 43, I think? lol
well in 'fictionj time' only a few weeks have past, but in real time, I think it took me a year. Yes, those guys had a lot to do in the meantime, and there will be a few other factors too!
Snape is actually very understanding right now. A bit too much maybe. A bit insecure too, actually, what if Harry was going to go away from him? But well, there WILL be some times in the future when he will have to deal with a mischievous Harry and will find his 'Snape mood' again ;-)
Poor little Shadow was exhausted with this chapter lol, had to raise his salary after that ! but there will soon be a lot more of Shadow. Good cat! :-)

- Oh my goodness, it sounds like all hell has broken loose! I hope Snape is okay (though I'm 100% sure he won't die, after all, you've written 40-some chapters on this and I don't think that's the route you're taking this story down, lol).
My favorite part was when Snape asked Harry if he wanted a family and Harry said no. I wanted to shout "Liar!" so badly then. Of course he wants and would value a family. Right now, I think Snape is being held back from asking because he doesn't think he'll be all that Harry needs. I'm sure he'll surprise himself though.
Great job--you've got me really anxious about what's happening at Hogwarts!

Harry is not really confortable with what he wants yet, and neither is Snape, actually. AS for what happened in Hogwarts... it was really, really bad!

- Oh my goodness--I can't believe how long this chapter is! It took me ages to read it! Great stuff too--I really like how Harry wants Snape to put his arm around his shoulder and that Severus obliged him.
I wonder if it Harry trusted Minerva more because he could smell that it was actually her in cat form. I'm glad he's getting better about trusting people. His powers worry me though because I really don't think he understands what he's capable of yet. I hope he doesn't hurt anyone on accident.
I hope Raewhit keeps up her super fast and excellent work because I can't wait to read the next chapter! I hope we find out what Draco wrote.

- Yay for Snape admitting his feelings about Harry! I can't believe he admitted to Albus that he loves Harry like a son! That part made me so happy!
Scrimgeour definitely has something bad in mind. I'm a bit worried that he's going to publicize Snape as a dirty old man who is having an affair with Harry, which would be really bad! I hope everything turns out okay for our heroes! Also, I hope Harry can stand to have Severus asleep for that long!
