- I loved this chapter! It was great that Snape automatically reacted like a parent in the beginning, even if he turned a bit insensitive about it after realizing what had woken him. It was sweet that he was there for Harry when he really needed him. This fic makes me smile so much--please write more soon!

- I loved this so much--who'd of thought Harry could be so depressed over Snape's 'rejection' so early in the game? As for Synthia, I have no idea. At first, I felt like maybe it was someone Snape was in love with, but the ending statement kind of squashed that idea for me. After all, if he was in love with Synthia, he wouldn't have last felt those sorts of feelings with Lily. I can't wait to find out more about her.

- Aw! I hope they go through with it soon; clearly, if Harry's feeling so insecure about it, the time is right, unless Severus isn't certain of his choice. I think he is though. This will be a learning journey for both of them. Thanks for the update!

I think I started something with this challenge; everyone's rhyming lately. :o) I'm typing on a Netbook with a postage-stamp keyboard, so my hands (and fingers, and wrists, and shoulders) are pretty much always sore now, but I'll try to update. - Wow. What I like best about this is how dark the ending suddenly got. I would really love to read a continuation of this where perhaps Snape gave it away on accident or Harry finds out on accident. Great ending.
My criticism would be that I think you need a beta, as there are some typos here and there and you have some date discrepancies as well that take away from what is otherwise an awesome fic. As for the dates, when the letter from Snape comes home to Sirius, it says the meeting is in April, but then everyone is suddenly talking about Harry coming home for Christmas in a few weeks. Really, that's an easy fix though.
Your Sirius is quite good and sassy. My favorite part was "behave" and then "badly" lol. Very nice. I really enjoyed this fic.

Thanks so much for the review! I was a bit worried about the end because of how quickly the mood changed (and because I'm a bit of a sappy happily-ever-after sort of person) and whether it fitted but everyone seems to have liked it! *sighs in relief*
Thanks for the con crit too, I really ought to get myself a beta; I'm just so darn impatient! When I've written something I just hate waiting for it to go through the beta-ering process. I fixed as many typos as I could find (I expect I missed some though) and I fixed the dates! In the plan, it was always taking place just before Christmas so I have no idea what was going through my head when I typed April!
I'm glad you liked my portrayal of Sirius; he's my favourite character! Well, him and Remus.

The-boy-who-lived, prophesied defeater of the Dark Lord, son of the supremely intelligent Lily Evans and talented James Potter, Golden boy of Gryffindor, part-time punching bag and house elf of the Dursleys and the bane of Severus Snape's teaching career, Harry's used to labels. Who would want Harry when they can see instead whoever they like instead? Having never been entirely sure who he is makes him a little too open to suggestion though and unfortunately for him, Umbridge wants to banish his old list of names and create a new one of her own.

Author's Response: Thanks ^^, I’ve read so few fics where they have as close a friendship as I think they’d have to after going through so much together and I love the idea of Ron being more supportive rather than jealous (I also loved the fic Somewhere I Belong 3 and the way Harry has so much support from friends in it, it makes it that much cuter ^-^) – not to mention, Harry’s gonna need some friends after next chapter ^^

- Wow, that cat cane is going to give me nightmares. Honestly, I think it's getting to verge of over-the-top with the violence. When the claws went into Harry's flesh, I found myself reminded of Biblical torture with a 'cat of nine tails.' I personally like angst, but am seriously bothered by the fact that Harry is suffering in silence and that no one even seems to be worried about what's going on.
I think this would be better if either Harry's friends had suspicions about what was going on (even if they are wrong) or if someone caught the violence at this point it time. That's just my opinion though.
The chapter was very creative and well-written. Nice work.

Really? I think I accidentally went into over-descriptive mode and made it too violent, I hadn’t even thought of any kind of biblical references... creepy... and don’t worry, people are and will be worried, I’m just trying to build it up a bit (I don’t wanna jump into the snapey goodness too soon ^^)

- Oh my... I'm glad that several people have suspicions and I think it's interesting that Malfoy happened to be one of the first to notice something is wrong. I hope he doesn't decide to try and do something to Harry while he's down.

- It's awfully hypocritical of Umbridge to not punish Ron for calling her names when she's trying so hard to reign in her class, particularly Harry. I hope they find something wrong with him at the infirmary so he doesn't have to go to detention tonight.
