Well, more of a favourite quote:

"There is no use trying, said Alice; one can't believe impossible things. I dare say you haven't had much practice, said the Queen. When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Alice in Wonderland -Lewis Carroll

Sickly and neglected by his caregivers, little Harry would not have survived were it not for the mysterious dark angel who watched over him, caring for him when he was sick. Harry never knew his name, until he attended Hogwarts and discovered a certain teacher bore a remarkable resemblance to his savior.

I agree...I love the 'Uncle Toby' solution!

Author's Response: Wow, it's been awhile since I got so many reviews on this at one time, so thanks so much! Glad you liked Uncle Toby!

I wish I had it as well. Sounds less risky than laser, eh? I'm scared to get THAT surgery, as I personally know someone (a good friend of my mother's) who is virtually blind as a result of having had it. I know if it's done correctly, it works great--I also know folks who have had successful surgeries, but the thought of the alternative just leaves me cold. I'd rather continue with my sucky vision than not be able to see at all!!!

Author's Response: Yes, I agree with you 100% i refuse to get it done because I can only really see out of one eye and if it gets damaged, I'm finished.  So glasses are safer for me.  But I wanted Harry to have the chance I never could so . . .there you go.

Very creeepy and much cooler than the original!

Author's Response: Thanks, I kind of wanted to make the mirror scary, since it seemed it should have been more than in the books, otherwise why hide it away?

Yes, your Minerva rocks! I love how she has so much more backbone and cares so much more in your story than canon. In canon it's like she cared when Dumbledore left Harry with the Muggles, but then quit protesting anything after that...

Author's Response: Thanks, I always felt she didn't get a fair shake than in the original series.  She kind of lets Albus walk all over her and that's not how I see Minerva.  Plus, both Severus and Harry need a mother, LOL! *Severus has now threatened to hex my computer for that comment.*

I was surprised...thought it'd been Seamus. Anyhow, a minor detail that you may want to consider modifying...Fred can't have taken Arithmancy the year before because he was a third year when the Trio hit first year. Electives begin 3rd year. You might want to change the course mentioned to Charms or Transfiguration...

Author's Response: Thanks, for some reason I thought they were in fourth year, but I miscounted.  I did change it to History of Magic.  And I'm glad you were surprised.

Kleenex wasn't enough anyhow...I had to go splash cold water on my face as well. Good chapter! (to say the least!)

Author's Response: Uh, yeah this was one of the most emotional chapters in this story.  But a necessary one.

I loved the end of this chapter! Great fun!

Author's Response: It was, wasn't it? And there's more fun to come!

Ugh, I don't know about hot-headed Ron in Malachite Cottage...

Author's Response: Yes, he might just wreck the place . . .unintentionally of course!

This was definitely a lot of fun! I really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for writing it. :-)

Author's Response: Thanks, and I will post a sequel one of these days!

VERY interesting so far. And I'm glad it's not the typical Harry-sorted-into-Slytherin fic. I'm always on the lookout for something new to read. Was just getting a bit bored when I came across your story. I look forward to reading more when you are ready to post it! :-)
