Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

    Awwww! I love it I love it I love it! Thanks for such a deep and touching chapter. I love where the relationship has grown to. Precious feelings in this. The part about Eileen and the rings not bonding was sad. I’m so glad that they worked for Harry and Severus this time. Great job on the chapter! Thank you so much for this story.

    Nooooo... don't do it, Snape! He is proving everything he fears about himself. I wish he'd been able to control himself... he does need help. Maybe he should go to AA. Harry will be heart broken at this show of giving up. I have a feeling this minor infraction will have consequences.

    Intense developments. Snape is really lacking confidence, and drowning in his sorrows. I hope he can pull out of it for Harry's sake. Dumbledore could tell what he was going to do before he left... perhaps an intervention is in store?

    I loved it so far!! Of course, I am a Ravenclaw so I am partial. :) I can't wait to see where you take this!

    I loved how Harry loved Ravenclaw, the experiments the questions, and new understandings.

    Hehe and Snape got splattered with exploded potion! I love how the misconceptions about other houses are being fixed.

    Ravenclaw seems great though. I wonder how the other houses will top this. Fantastic start! I love Harry's point of view, and the story idea is so fresh!

    Ha! I love that Draco visited Gryffindor while the trio was there. Hopefully Draco will make Harry’s time in Slytherin more bearable. Too bad Draco stayed quiet and didn’t become closer friends with the trio. I always hope that he would turn out better in the books. But maybe by the end of this story he will be closer to Harry at least. He at least knows Harry doesn’t have a winter coat. Snape circling Harry’s desk after last week was funny.

    I’m loving the story and this premise! Thanks so much for the update!!

    Awesome chapter!! I loved court, and how Harry got out of trouble. Fantastic how Sprout pruned and trimmed his hair with garden shears! Lol. And I’m so glad they helped him get his appearance up closer to standards. Cool that Hufflepuff is like a den, with den beds. Neat that Ron wants to now visit Hufflepuff! I’m so glad that Harry’s experiences with the house exchange have been great so far! Thanks for writing the story and all the updates! I am really enjoying it so far. Please update when you can. :D

    I like that there is more to read so fast.

    Everyone seems in character. The Potter- Malfoy rivalry is present and full of fire. Very good. Now they have another thing to be jealous of over each other - Professor Snape. Poor Snape, I have a feeling he is in for a rough summer.

    I like where the story is going, but Snape did seem to adapt to the situation too fast. How does he know Draco can stay with him? Doesn’t he want to figure things out first, like why Draco is even there?

    The dialogue is good. Id like to see more thoughts from the characters though. And more descriptions. Descriptions are the richness of the story. :)

    It’s a good start for Snape and Harry. Very plausible. I liked how the situation was explained quickly as a way of looking back. Most people are not able to accomplish that as well as you did.

    It as a super short chapter, I wanted more.

    Draco’s story needs a little more work to make it seem in character of his parents. The main traits they have are being snobs and loving their son. If they hid him away for his safety without explaining it to him, it would make sense. Like if something went wrong, and then they were taken over by demons or something and Draco was forgotten, but safe like the original Malfoy’s planned.

    But overall, good start. I’m interested in seeing where this goes.

    Wow. That was fast. Way too fast. I think there needs to be more development first. Harry is understanding and forgiving, but I don’t think he would flip all the way around that fast. Seeing his rival in distress might start to make him see Draco differently, but I don’t think he would be able to make that leap yet. Both of them are really hard headed. Even if Harry could make the leap, I think Draco would punch him. Or vice versa.

    But it’s okay. I wonder what Snape is doing.
