Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

Harry laid in a heap on the ground with his eyes pressed closed. His hip felt as if it were on fire, and he was certain that his arm was badly broken. Burning pain was radiating down his leg from his hip, and he didn't think he could move even a little.

    Awww, what a wonderful glimpse of what could have been. I really like that both Snape and Remus are still alive. They both can help Harry probably more than anyone else. I am intrigued with the new mind connection Harry and Snape have now.

    What a wonderful one-shot. it had the perfect mood, great descriptions, and everyone was in character. Thanks so much for writing it and sharing it with us!

    I noticed a couple of things to fix:

    The former potion's professor then started to lightly doze again. All the energy was fading from his body. Remus gave the man a sad slime.

    Just as Arthur began to push Harry's char back, the worn werewolf work in his chair.

    Arthur sat on the edge of Harry's bed to get more on the other man's level. "Why don't you come back to the Burrow with us? Remus, Arthur waved at the man who was watching the interaction with interest, offered for Harry to go stay with him. I think it would be good for him to be out of the public eye for a bit. And I think it would be good for you to be around others who can help you. At least while you recover."

    Great first story! If Harry drank the potion would it really be permanent? I'm so glad that Snape was there to intervene. Your story seems to be missing any paragraph breaks. Did your copy have them? Thanks for writing and sharing!

    Author's Response: I added a new chapter if you're interested. Also, as far as the paragraph breaks, I wrote this in a google doc, then pasted it here, but instead of the breaks, it had wide gaps like I pressed tab instead of Spacebar, so I just got rid of them, and cried internally. Also, the draught question is answered in the next chapter.

    Wow, what an interesting premise. Snape must have been extremely strict with Harry to keep him safe. How old is Harry? Does he know magic? Does Snape speak in English to Harry or Italian since they are in Italy? What are Harry's jobs? And how did Snape condition him to be a slave? How will he fix that?

    Author's Response: They speak english, yes, snape is strict, Harry cleans, and gardens, but he's supposed to stay by the cottage at all times, so he can't do too much. Snape used fear to instil obedience. Harry should be 7, But I could be wrong.

Harry was chosen for the Wizards Dueling tournament. The best two witches and wizards from each wizarding school was selected. Severus proposed the idea, but he couldn't have foreseen the wild events that take place.

    Nice setup. I would love to read more. Where did they travel to? Is it two participants of a certain age? Like 6th year and up? How old are Harry and Draco?

    Author's Response: Draco would have. So would Harry. This is already awkward, they wouldn't want to make it worse. Also, the only reason Draco bullied Harry in the books was because his father wanted him to. He did whatever his father said, and anyone could write to Draco's father. Owls always know where to go. Further, no one is here to see what's going on, so he doesn't need to.

    Awww, they both have troubles. These chapters are extremely short. I'd suggest adding three chapters together to make one chapter as your writing develops.

    Good start! It's totally in character that Harry isn't reading the newspaper articles. He will be so shocked though at this news being true. How will he take it?

    The only improvement I can suggest is to watch and make sure all the names are capitalized. You had a harry in there instead of Harry, and professor Snape instead of Professor Snape. The chapters are short, but that is okay when stories are updated quickly. It would be nice to have more details given as well.

    Thanks for writing and sharing this new story! I'm really enjoying it. I'd love to read more!
