After a series of tests to discover why Harry's magic has become erratic, a secret is revealed, one hidden for over fifteen years. But not all secrets disappear without consequence, leaving Severus to learn that potions cannot heal everything.

Author's Response: I like it, too. I thought of it while I was revising the chapter and i was like OMG that's kinda perfect. It works on two levels in that it is almost funny, but it's also sad that Harry at fifteen is thinking that way.
Author's Response: Thank you. The next chapter should be up in the next few days. I'm writing it right now and how much I get written depends on how cooperative my puppy is tonight.
Author's Response: I hope you meant unusual in a good way. ;) One of my pet peeves in fanfic is that when someone is ill or hurt, the author writes like all the characters crowding around the bedside of the affected person when that would be so overwhelming and at times very unwelcome to the affected person. It's always nice to hear someone finds my story amazing. *smiles* Thanks!
Author's Response: Flurry is a very sweet cat, like cats are supposed to be *gives my evil psychotic cat who bites an evil look.* I don't think the procedure itself will be too horrible, but we'll see. Thanks!
This was a wonderful chapter. I really liked the idea of different blankets in the Hospital Wing. It make a lot of sense, the medical alert bracelet sounded awesome too. I wish mine was that cool! I hope Severus can help Harry over his breakdown and that he is able to recover quickly. Wonderful chapter! I can't wait for the next update! I was wondering what the title means. Is it latin? Author's Response: I think I just finished the framework for the next chapter, and I don't think we'll get to that discussion. Something else kinda took over the whole chapter... Thanks! Don't they have cooler looking medical alert bracelets than the standard ones? I think I remember hearing a celeb mentioning it once a few years ago on one of the late night talk shows. I'm glad to hear you liked both ideas. As for the breakdown, whew is all I'm going to say. The title is Latin, so five points to you. =) It means the die is cast and is pronounced like a-leee-a yak-ta est with all the a's being short. It basically infers a point of no return. I hope to get the next chapter up sometime tomorrow. We'll see how far I get on fixing it up tonight.
Author's Response: I feel bad for Harry, too, and I'm the one who put him through it! Thanks!
Author's Response: I'm glad he learned it, too. It's amazing what a little spell can do, isn't it? Despite Sev insisting he isn't a shrink teaching kids and being a spy gives him a great practical education concerning the psychological nature of people, and this will help him with Harry. You're welcome and thank you!
I'm not sure what book Harry's eyeing, but I think it's 'The Oddessy'. I'm not really sure of a house and I'm just guessing. I can't wait to read your repsonse to the prompt fest. I'm looking forward to writing and reading to! Great Chapter! Author's Response: "The Odyssey" is a good guess and quite appropriate, but wrong part of the alphabet, author wise. I'm happy to hear you loved this chapter. It had a bit of everything before Harry's health heads downhill because of the chemo. I'm excited to start my fest fic. It's a lot happier than this fic, and I'm actually thinking of writing it in first person which is something I haven't done in a long time, so that should be fun and different for me.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you like the smoothies. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how easy something is to keep down for Harry... I should have the next chapter posted tomorrow sometime since I'm almost through writing. :)
Author's Response: Yes, I gave you guys a cliffhanger. I think it actually helps me write fast because then I'm excited to write what's next. lol. ;) I have a few plans for Harry to see his friends and the Weasleys soon. I think he's pretty much comes to terms with his illness and he needed to do that before he could handle visitors. Though of course, Sev is going to be frantic and paranoid when it comes to allowing others into his quarters to see Harry. For Voldemort to keep his head down while Harry completely treated his cancer would be unrealistic. Treatment for ALL leukemia takes years though after the first about 8 months it gets easier. Plus, we're in the middle of a war, and the world doesn't stop for one person. Thanks! |
