When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

- Awww that was so sweeet))) Harry worried about Snape, Snape being just shy of nice))) And Snape being afraid of the little snake)) In fact, I'm pretty sure he knows a thousand and one potions for snake bite, and Brtish snakes aren't deadly poisonous on the spot. But this whole situation reminded me of a fanfic where Harry made friends wth the basilisk instead of killing it, and got Snape to ride it)))) I can't imagine how Harry is going to breach the important subjects with thim though )) And I don't really understand why they can't set up a lab in the Room of Requirement. I mean, stuff stays there if you phrase the requirement the same every time, and they should know that after DA.
Author's Response: Haha, yes, if anybody would be prepared for a snake bite, it would be Snape! Between the two of them, they got this snake thing covered. ;) Ha - I definitely think Harry should have befriended the Basilisk. It's just a bigger snake, right? Who says bigger has to be meaner?? Yeah, I thought about the Room of Requirement in that sense, but I'm assuming it can't cover absolutely everything. I mean, if it did, that would have solved half their problems in the novels. (Or I just wanted a reason for Harry to need Snape.) ;) Thanks for the review! I hope you're having a good week!

Author's Response: Yay, thanks for the review! Yeah, I thought Kneader was self-explanatory, but then a was asked how to pronounce it on the other site. I know I have some younger readers and others who are still learning English, so I figured I'd clarify and the 99% who know how to pronounce it can ignore the note. :) And I guess we'll see what happens on the Potions front later. They have a few hurdles to overcome before that will come up again... ;)
Snape and Harry are locked in the Room of Requirement by Dumbledore. Harry's magic works, and Snape's doesn't. Will they kill each other? In response to the 72-Hour Challenge.

- HEEEEY!!!! So happy to see you here! I totally understand how you feel about the story, I recently finished a long-forgotten one of my own. This year seems beneficial for old stories 8))) I really can't express how happy I am that this fanfic's got a chance to be continued. It is in my mind the best Snarry gen fic whatsoever, and I've been gnawing my nails for years trying to figure out what Dumbledore is up to. I'm also very anxious to see how Harry and Snape's relationship develops, because this is the one fic where *everything* that had happened between the two of them in the canon is brought up and examined and named its real name... Oh, well, you certainly made my day 8)
