When the great granddaughter of Aberforth Dumbledore moves to Britain to be close to her fiancé, and is hired to teach Magical History at Hogwarts, Severus Snape and Lucy O'Conner discover that sometimes fate (or six-year-old Harry) has a way of throwing a wrench into life's best laid plans.

I have a feeling that this will bring their family even closer. All parents have disagreements at times, but they need to be careful to consider how their actions will affect the children as well. I wonder if Harry will ever tell them exactly why he ventured into the Forest? Author's Response: I think Harry was too scared to really say anything to the Centaurs. He has already confessed some to Severus and Lucy, but there will be a little more on that next chapter. Yes, this incident did help to tighten that familial bond and Harry's daddy and mummy will be having a conversation with him on the topic of parental disagreements. Thank you for your comments and continued support of my little piece of fiction. ~Missyann
Author's Response: Is Sirius on the money or is he just speculating? Enquiring minds want to know...and will find out next chapter. Bruahahaha! ~Missyann
Author's Response: Just like it says, Kenneth is taking his time. There is no telling when or where he will make his move. Until then, Lucy is determined to lead a normal life...even if Severus is determined not to let her alone for a second. Thank you for the response. ~Missyann A chance encounter preludes the future path for Severus and Harry.

Author's Response: You are absolutely correct silverstargirl. Well, Crabbe and Goyle never were the smartest cookies in the jar. It's always easier to place blame elsewhere and I could see Greg chosing to blame Harry (who is the bad guy in their point of view) rather than thinking negatively of his own father. Greg is just being myopic and Vince is supporting his buddy. You are also correct that Harry should have reported the incident, but as we have seen time and time again in canon; Harry is always trying to handle things himself. Perhaps because he never really had an adult he could go to for guidance when he was young. But don't worry, everything happens for a reason. Hang in there. Hugs, SHaria
I'm doubly glad that the boys that attacked Harry and threatened Hermione have been given over to the proper authorities. I really hope that they will enjoy their stint in Azkaban. Author's Response: Thank you for your nice long review silverstargirl! Again (I keep repeating myself and here I go again), Severus is one smart cookie. AND he has the sensitivity and ability to carry off being a double agent so in my book- of course he notices subtle things and therefore would have been aware that something was wrong with Harry. As for Harry, his crisis did not occur until he was walking up to the infirmary (that's when the rib punctured his pleura and caused the pneumothorax.) I actually have 33 chapters written in the snarry version of this story and no- he won't be in this position again (I'm not saying things don't happen, but he won't withold medical attention to himself again). AND yes, Crab and Goyle. I did go back and forth with regards to Ministry dicipline or school dicipline, but when you come down to it- there really wasn't a choice. Thanks again! Hugs, SHaria
I really hope that Harry will be able to regain control of his magic. Until he does, there are sure to be some interesting happenings. Author's Response: Thanks for your nice long review silverstargirl. As I've mentioned in other responses: I always felt bad that Severus didn't rise to his potential in canon. He is smart, sensitive, clever ... I could go on- So now he has apologized to Harry, face to face, and Harry has accepted his apology. Their work together will inspire them to deal with some personal issues: trust (for Harry) and facing one's own frailities (for Severus). As for the power surges, just wait. Cheers, SHaria
Author's Response: I'm no authority on the subject of young men deciding their preference, but I do know that Harry was raised in a household that frowned upon homosexuality (I believe Vernon used the British slang: Nancy Boy, so I wouldn't be all that surprised if Harry might feel a tad self conscious. I'm not certain if I left in the sentence about Anthony being sensitive to Harry's preoccupation as they walked up to the castle (I had to do some editing to make this into a Sevitus chapter and not a Snarry chapter), but there used to be a sentence alluding to that fact. So, we'll just leave it there. Gotta go. Thanks for the review. Hugs, SHaria
Harry and Anthony's relationship is certainly coming along nicely. They very nearly got caught in the shed and should probably be more careful in the future. I'm glad that Harry now knows some of the warning signs that he is going to have a power surge. It's good that he was able to lesson the impact, as well. Author's Response: Thanks for your sweet review silverstargirl. Well, just because Sev has had some bad outings with V, that doesn't mean they're all that way. I like the fact that this is the first time we see Harry reaching out to Sev, concerned for his welfare. And I love the teenage relationship for Harry. He needed that. Thanks for sharing, SHaria
Author's Response: Try not to worry silverstargirl. I'll tell you- no one dies, but it's not a bed of roses either. Hang in there and thanks for sharing, SHaria
I'm glad that Severus has suffered no lasting ill effects from this tragedy. In fact, he seems to have found something to cling to that makes his life a little bit better. Author's Response: Hi Silverstargirl, Your comment of whether or not it would be better if Anthony had died, rather than live the remainder of his life a shell of what he had been, is exactly one ot the points I whiched to present in this chapter. I tend to do this throuhout the story, and find that mort readers miss these messages, seeing only the story. In this chapter for instance we have: The ongoing issue of whether or not a person should be kept alive if they are in a permanent coma or have suffered severe brain injuries. Some people believe that yes, they have the right to live and others believe it more merciful to end that person's life. I don't have the answer, I merely raise the point. Another issue is the power of love. In this case, its opposite effects on both Severus and Voldemort, saving and nurturing one while acting as a weapon against the other. Additionally, Harry (who's character in the HP series is the symbol of all three loves: Agape, Eros and Philia), doesn't even consider the fact that he just knocked down the evil Dark Lord but can only think of his injured friend. As we all know, life isn't easy; we learn from the challenges we face. I know this was a difficult chapter, but Harry is a strong individual supported by many who love him, and this seed of love that was planted in Severus's heart will blossom. Hang in there and thanks for sharing your thoughts. SHaria
