I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter!

Severus Snape is my hero and favorite character by far. I have never forgiven J.K. for killing him off. I love to see him as a father figure to Harry. (Who needs James Potter? Not me!)

There are few pairings that I won't read about, but for some reason I cannot abide Ginny Weasley, unless she is a villian. I like her that way. Though that doesn't mean that I won't read fics with her as the love interest, it's just not my preference. Truth is that I adore reading and my tastes are rather eclectic, so bring on the stories, because I'm ready to review!

I have just started my first attempt at a Harry Potter fanfic and I hope that everyone will enjoy it. I welcome all constructive critism and any advice given will be noted.

    Avoiding the issues won't help and I think that something is going to happen soon that will prove it. Harry needs to be given a reason to go on or his depression will lead to terrible things. I know that Dumbledore thought that he was helping, but he didn't need to tell Harry that his love put yet another person in danger. Is the man TRYING to make Harry even more depressed and unhappy? I have a bad feeling that Harry is going to eventually try to avoid any and all relationships....

    Author's Response: Don't give up the ship silverstargirl! I'm sorry this chapter got you so worked up and I promise things will get better. It wasn't that Dumbledore thought he was 'helping', rather that he needed Harry to understand the situation for his own protection.     I hope that Severus does reach out to Harry. They would do each other a world of good, I think. I'm really glad that the timing of Voldemort's call for assistance allowed Severus to be in the right place at the right time to save Harry and help Neville and his grandmother.

    While I'm not happy that Harry was attacked, I am glad that Neville got the chance to redeem himself in his own eyes. Dumbledore was right about what courage really is. It is far braver to do what is right in spite of your fear than it is to simply be unafraid.

    Author's Response: Thank you for sharing your thoughts silverstargirl. I totally agree with your comments regarding courage and yes, Neville got the opportunity to prove himself. After all, he didn't ask to get Imperiused and when the chips were down, he came through with flying colors. What he did in this chapter will affect him later on in the story. As for Neville's patronus- he didn't have one in canon, so I made his Patronus a peacock which symbolizes many different things (dependant upon the culture) from wisdom, patience and kindness to thriving in the face of suffering. I thought Neville deserved a super cool Patronus. Hugs, SHaria

    Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I think that Severus has passed his darkest hour and that, even if he will never fully recover from Lily's death, his life will improve way beyond his wildest dreams.

    xD! Poor Harry is so confused. Of course, he isn't used to having a parent, so I suppose it's not that shocking. It's too bad that he didn't think to go to Severus before haring off and attempting to steal the mercury so that Draco couldn't get it. It's clear that it was a setup and that Draco was hoping to get Harry seriously injured or killed. Was it simply out of revenge for the boggart or was it about something else?

    I wonder how long it will take for Hermione to figure out that Harry spent the summer with Severus?

    The potion that Severus was testing on Harry made him rather loopy, didn't it? I hope that it will accomplish what Severus is theorizing it will. I wonder why Dumbledore wouldn't let him try it on Harry before?

    I feel kind of bad for Draco. He hasn't any real friends and is under a great deal of pressure right now. Between the mechanisms of his parents and Voldemort, he has very few choices available to him. He needs a real friend, one who isn't there because of certain 'connections'. I wonder what would happen if Harry extended his hand in friendship to Draco?

    Like Harry, I saw Ron's reaction coming, but I am glad that his eyes were opened to the reality of the situation. Harry had nothing against the Weasleys, if anything he loves them. However, as Hermione said, he needs someone that is there for him, no matter what. Harry would have been lost amongst a sea of Weasleys and with Severus, he has the individual attention he needs.

    Dumbledore doesn't know what just hit him, does he? He should have realized that Harry would quickly become far more important to Severus than the destruction of Voldemort. Severus will do whatever it takes to protect his child and their interests. No longer will Dumbledore be allowed to use Harry to further his own goals with impunity.

    I hope that Severus and Minerva will be able to figure out a way to remove the horcrux from Harry's forehead without harming him. I wonder if Harry will ever really trust Dumbledore again now that he knows that the old man planned to have him die?

    I hope that the information that Severus is getting on this trip will bear fruit. I hope that they will be able to figure out where the rest of the horcruxes are and soon.

    Harry's right...I have no doubt whatsoever that Severus is going to kill him. Harry should have waited for Severus to try destroying the badge. I just hope that the venom for the snake bite isn't too harmful.

    I do hope that they will be able to get rid of the scar without causing any permanent changes to Harry's persona. It would be terrible if saving him from the horcrux destroyed the wonderful boy that he is. With where the horcrux is it could cause him to have to relearn everything....
