About me:

I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter!

Severus Snape is my hero and favorite character by far. I have never forgiven J.K. for killing him off. I love to see him as a father figure to Harry. (Who needs James Potter? Not me!)

There are few pairings that I won't read about, but for some reason I cannot abide Ginny Weasley, unless she is a villian. I like her that way. Though that doesn't mean that I won't read fics with her as the love interest, it's just not my preference. Truth is that I adore reading and my tastes are rather eclectic, so bring on the stories, because I'm ready to review!

I have just started my first attempt at a Harry Potter fanfic and I hope that everyone will enjoy it. I welcome all constructive critism and any advice given will be noted.

Thank you for visiting my profile.

Severus tells how his life took a very different path because he had two best friends-one was Lily and the other a collie. Severus-centric, will have Harry in later chapters.Features loyal and fierce Lily! AU!SS/LE

Poor Gabe! It must have been awful for him to be cooped up in that kennel. And then, to be bothered by those nasty boys...terrible. I have a bad feeling about the kinds of troubles that will be caused by the future Marauders.

Author's Response: You can see some of the trouble happening in the newest chapter I just posted.  It was, an active dog that has never been put in a kennel finds it miserable.  And back then, people didn't do crate training.

If the Potter and Black had been Slytherins, Dumbledore probably wouldn't have hesitated to punish them. He has the unfortunate tendency to favor Gryffindors and thus, needs far more 'proof' of the evil deeds they are more than capable of. What those horrid boys did was beyond cruel. I wonder how they would feel if they were locked up in an unventilated room without water for hours? They are extremely lucky that Gabe lived because if he hadn't, I have a feeling that there would no longer BE any Marauders and I wouldn't blame Severus at all!

I wonder how much of the potion Gabe ingested? I'm just glad that it wasn't a harmful one and actually helped by extending Gabe's life by at least 10 years.

I think Severus handled Harry well. Kids at Harry's age require a firm hand and it's not like Harry wasn't warned.

I'm glad that Severus was able to get Lily off of the lake. It's a really good thing that Gabe's instincts were so good. It's really a pity that Dumbledore didn't recognize the true extent of the wrong that the Marauders did. Didn't he understand that the 'prank' nearly got Lily and Severus killed?

Lily was incredibly foolish to make that deal with Potter. What really sickens me is that she just cheapened herself. Yes, it is terrible that James and his cohorts kept bullying Severus, but she shouldn't have sold herself like that. She didn't even manage to stop the bullying by doing so. It's really hard to have any respect for her at all right now...

    Author's Response:

Don't be too hard on her, since right then all she saw was that Potter was attacking Severus mostly because of her and since going to an adult wasn't helping, she did the only thing she could think of to get Potter to stop . . .she agreed to his terms. She also is naive, she didn't think that Pettigrew and Sirius wouldn't follow James' lead, since they always had before. Peter probably would have, if Sirius hadn't decided not to.  Lily's a Gryffindor, and in addition to the courage part, sometimes tends to act on impulse, without thinking things through, especially when it comes to her best friend.  She didn't know she was making a deal with the devil, she figures that Potter has at least some smidgen of honor and will keep his word. She just forgot how much Sirius hates Slytherins.

There are also other complications which will come up later on as a result of her decision.

If Lily wanted to be friends with Severus again then she should have done so. Even if she was 'dating' James, it didn't mean that she didn't have the right to have friends that he didn't like.

I'm really glad that Severus had at least on real friend. Gabe saved him from himself and I'm glad he was there.

    Author's Response:

That's very true. Unfortunately, Lily chose to believe James when he told her Severus was going dark.

He did indeed and that's what a good dog does, loves you in spite of all your mistakes and saves you from making terrible ones.

    I've just updated again!

Title: Chapter 11: Eyes and Ears 26 Jul 2010

Sometimes sorry isn't enough. Lily should never have relied on rumors and assumptions to make her decision when it came to whether or not she would continue being friends with Severus. She destroyed their friendship, not him. And then, to make things worse, she continued in her relationship with Potter to the point of actually marrying him, despite all the vicious and nasty things he had done to Severus. Why should he forgive her?

After nearly freezing to death outside his relative's home, little Harry is rescued by first a spirit and then a snarky git! The adventure isn't over yet though, as Snape soon realizes that his charge's problems aren't limited to just frostbite.

I'm glad that Harry's reaction to Irma was so much better than the one he had to poor Minerva. I hope that the old man isn't going to try anything when Severus and Harry arrive at his office...

OOOOOO...I so want to punch that old man! His insinuations were disgusting and it would serve him right if Severus took Harry and left for good. I think that Severus should tell Minerva and Poppy what the old fart said. Surely they will give Dumbledork a piece of their minds for his insensitivity and cruelty.

Can we go kill the Dursleys yet? Harry has only been with them a few years and has been horribly abused in that short time. There is no excuse and they must pay!

I have a feeling (and I hope) that Poppy is about to give Dumbledore a piece of her mind or two. It's horrible that HE wanted to send poor Harry back to those monsters. What's even worse is that he never once checked on the child in all that time. He should have never assumed that they would 'love' Harry...

Author's Response: Hmm, just for you, I think I shall have something of your second paragraph in my next chapter.  *cackles*  Muahahahhaa.  Okay, I was already planning to do something similar, but your review just gave me the incentive to do it now!

I'm glad that Harry remembers Hagrid. It is sure to mean a great deal to Hagrid that Harry not only isn't scared of him, but actually seems to trust and like him. Hagrid will be another ally in Severus' quest to keep Harry safe and happy.

I wonder what lessons James will be teaching Dumbledore? The old man has made many a bad decision and I hope that he will learn his lesson and finally see what he has done wrong. I also hope that he will make amends...
