    Lovely prologue with the wintry backdrop, and the sense of foreboding in the question that Lily asked Severus. There's a sense of promise and hope, and yet that something bad is going to happen. It works very well.

    This was a very sweet story. I like how it ended happily, and how Snape took on the role of mentor for Harry prior to him going to Hogwarts. It is such a lovely ending.

    Poor Harry, and Snape as well. Slavery is a bond between both master and slave, and, as such, both of them are stuck with each other for life. I hope that things will start to look up for both of them, and that Snape will address some of the issues that have been brought up, circumspectly, since he's removed Harry from his relatives.

    Looking forward to reading more.

    Author's Response: Well, Snape already realizes he'll have a hard time telling Harry that his relatives were wrong to beat him when he's going to have to turn around and beat Harry himself.  Anyway, they'll get some issues straightened out eventually.

    Hopefully Dumbledore will look into Snape's allegations of verbal and physical abuse. I enjoyed reading the story, and like how both Harry and Dudley were able to laugh at the situation with Marge dating Mr. Lawson. It was a fun read, and a nice twist on how Snape finds out about Harry's home life.
