Snape, of course, would no sooner let them play games in class than adopt Harry -GoF pg 342. Harry never expected to be adopted—especially not by Snape. Harry hates his new father, and the feeling is mutual. But to the outside world, they have to pretend otherwise, or Harry could end up in very deep trouble. Is anyone that good at acting? ~In memory of one of the greatest actors of our time~

Excellent opening, and lovely tribute. I look forward to reading more. You've dropped quite a few hints, and that has me curious.

Excellent explanation of the situation, and why Snape acted when, and how he did when that notice came. I am looking forward to see how well Harry and Snape play their parts, and when/if their relationship progresses beyond just acting to something more genuine.

Great setup. I particularly like Harry's thoughts about how they're going to pull this off, and how he realizes that both he and Snape are quite capable of acting the way that they need to. Looking forward to reading more.

Excellent chapter. I like how Snape, though he was upset with Harry's question, did not take it out on Harry, though it was obvious that he was upset in how he handled the dishes. That added detail made the scene seem that much more real to life. I am looking forward to seeing more of how their relationship develops over time. It's nice to see Harry thinking more about Snape at the end, and the complications for the man who has adopted him. The concern is a nice touch.

Great chapter; I like how Sirius did not overreact to Harry's news, and that Remus was there as well. That Dumbledore mentioned Hermione's idea was excellent as well. I look forward to reading more.

Lovely scene. I like how natural it was for them to fall into their roles, and how upset Fudge was over it all. I look forward to reading more.

I really like this AU, and look forward to seeing how it will progress. I think that Snape's change in attitude is quite believable, and like how much attention Erebus is paying in class. I wonder what will happen when/if it is discovered that Erebus is Harry.
Author's Response: Thanks! The pace of attitude changes is always a tricky one. Feedback is definitely helpful.
I doubt Erebus has much else to do. Two years of sitting in on every single potions class from 1-7th has got to make some kind of an impact.

I enjoyed this chapter. I like that Severus, and Erebus, were able to call on ancient magic together (it seems like both of them kind of added to that mix). Looking forward to seeing how everything plays out.
Author's Response: Oh yeah, it was definitely the mix. Snape is powerful on his own, but it was the combination that was able to surprise Dumbledore and get him to back down a bit.

:-) I love this chapter! I like how you revealed the truth to Snape and McGonagall. Perfect. I am excited to read more.
Author's Response: I was nervous about the big reveal. So many ways to disappoint. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It was good to see Harry as Harry, though sad that he had to go through pain in order to transform. I really enjoyed this chapter, and like how Snape is starting to adapt into his role as a father.
Author's Response: I don't see Snape as mushy, but since he already had a parental type role with Erebus (keeping a parrot is very much like living with a 3 year-old who will never ever grow up and who has a penchant for destruction) it made sense in my head for it to extend to Harry once he learned that they were one and the same.
