- I love this story! It's a really interesting concept and I haven't read anything like this before. I don't think Snape is going to put up with this bratty Dudley for much longer! It will be so funny to see how Snape reacts to having to take care of Harry and Dudely. Update Soon :D

I wish I could say the idea was solely mine, but it was Foolish Wishmaker's. When I read her challenge this little story just popped into my head and wouldn't go away.
And no Snape will not have much tolerance for Dudley's attitude. :)

Severus Snape is a spy by nature and by training. As such it infuriates him when he realizes that he knows virtually nothing about the real Harry…other than the fact that Harry keeps a journal. Using his own invisibility cloak, Severus sneaks into the Gryffindor tower while the students are at the leaving feast and exchanges the journal's specially matched ever-sharp quill with a quill of his own that has been charmed to a parchment in Severus' possession so that everything Harry writes is copied to the parchment. What does Harry write, and what happens when Severus realizes that they are kindred spirits. 2010 Challenge Fest entry. Response to Pen Pals by dianehc.

- Great story. I think this was a really interesting challenge. I like how Snape began to care for Harry, and in the beginning he used his spying skills to sneak into the common room. Awesome ^_^

Cooking and potions are rather alike, and I always wondered why Harry seemed to have such a hard time with it (in the books), after getting so much practice at the Dursleys. (Might have something to do with Snape's less-than-encouraging teaching methods...) Thanks for reviewing!

Author's Response: Thanks ^^. I've had this idea on my mind for a few days; being a devoted caregiver is very 'Harry' and, considering what he had endured during his life as a spy, Severus seems a prime canditate for dementia. While there are a number of 'reverse' stories out there, with a helpless Severus relying on Harry, usually they are deaging or physical illness fics: very few (none which I've read) actually deal with Severus actually entering a 'second childhood', where the elderly man loses his memory and most of his mental faculties into the bargain. (Probably because it *is* very sad.) However, I thought it needed to be written and I hope I managed to add enough humour and fluff to take the edge off the tragedy, without trivalising it.
