- Ok I'm confused. Did I miss something? I thought Snape was going to show Harry his barrier, but then he just dismissed him...???

It happens in the next chapter. It's an emotionally draining decision, I would imagine (even if Snape is too proud to admit it), and he never promised to do so immediately.
