"A Christmas Carol" is my favorite novella, movie, play, recording, you name it. My friends have plied me with a multitude of gifts along this theme over the years; the movie book, old copies, new copies, illustrated copies, children's copies, dvds of all the versions (except Cicely Tyson $170 is just too much for a VHS tape). They even found me a coloring book. I even have the song "Ebenezer Scrooge" by Teresa Brewer. It probably shouldn't be a surprise that this plot bunny attacked me in the night when I was vulnerable. Hope that you enjoy my version. Without further ado, but with copious apologies to the late Charles Dickens, my version of A Dursley Christmas Carol.

Very nice. Good to see the Dursleys see the error of their ways without actually being hexed. The future looks bright all round.
Author's Response: Yes, indeed. It won't be easy but having met Voldemort; they know what could happen. I thought I'd try a less violent solution. But Arabella's cousin I think could have been persuaded to hex them....

Nice to see this continuing. A surprise that Snape couldn't get Harry out of the competition. I liked how Harry just let Snape get on with working out some of his anger with no fear or worry for himself.

This is great. Unusual concept and I love Harry's character - he's a real mix of all the Hogwarts house traits. And Snape (hah, Snake) manages to be in character even stuck in a photo. Wonder what Petunia would think if she found out what Harry has brought into the house.
Author's Response: Thank you! Oh, Petunia would totally freak out if she knew that not only he brought "that horrible Snape boy" into the house, but also a cursed photo! The danger to her precious Dudders! But Snape is clever enough to hide out of sight when he sleeps, so it is not likely she will catch Harry with anything but a boring photo of a beach.

Good start. Glad Harry at least has Hedwig to look out for him. Onwards to find out where Snape fits in to the story.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Hedwig is such a good owl. She makes sure Harry gets something for Christmas from the Dursleys each year, even though the Dursleys rather wouldn't give him anything.

I really like this, especially how you are showing Severus' character. He's just a little bit different to how he's often written. Looking forward to seeing what sort of Christmas he's planned for himself and Harry.
Author's Response: Thanks! In which way do you mean he's different? I do try to keep him in character.

'Dream' Snape is certainly working hard to look after Harry. Don't think Harry will believe it when his fever subsides. BTW 'different' was meant as a compliment. Snape wasn't OOC, just well described as more than 1 dimensional. He is definitely slightly grumpy, certainly impatient, and some of his slightly rebellious thoughts made me smile.
Author's Response: Oh, I see, thank you!
It's always a bit of a challenge to not make him too nice. ^^

Loved this one. Snape was very human, with a good si*ed Slytherin streak, and Harry didn't have a bad Christmas all things considered. Great! (*sorry - the last letter of the alphabet seems to have stopped working on my keyboard.)

That was good. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you and I'm glad! There will be an update soon!
After Dumbledore’s death, Hogwarts has to be evacuated to ensure a proper turnover of the wards. Accordingly, McGonagall announces that everyone must leave for the winter holidays. With Bellatrix still on the loose, Harry has little desire to endanger his friends by going home with them, so he resigns himself to a terrible holiday spent with the Dursleys. Thankfully for him, Severus has been on the alert ever since he had uncovered bits and pieces of Harry’s childhood. When he discovers where Harry has gone, he immediately sets about putting the situation to rights.

I really like how you are telling this story. Its great that Severus is not pushing Harry or smothering him, but giving him time to work things out for himself.
Author's Response: thank you!! yeah i think that snape, of all people, would know not to be too pushy with harry
