Rather than allowing Harry to stay at Diagon Alley after he blew up Aunt Marge, the Ministry sends Harry back to the Dursleys. Harry returns to school after a terrible summer, to find that he's not the only one with this kind of secret. A student has been killed by his family. New screening measures are put into place by the Ministry: Every student must be given a medical exam and interview to look for child abuse. With Dumbledore facing an inquiry, Snape is entrusted with the task of making sure EVERYONE receives one.

- I'm surprised Harry isn't in a coma from shock. (That's my impression of that last line) Somehow child, I think there is a little more to it than just duty on Sev's part, no matter what he says.

- I think Severus is going paternal. I wonder if Remus will help or hinder it? Being negative, I think he might hinder it and any bond Harry could form with Severus... please prove me wrong!

- I promise not to debate. However, I really think there should be mandatory muggle studies classes for purebreds. Because they are idiots about the values, concerns, and biases that muggleborns, and even half-bloods, are raised with; just as muggle-borns and halfbloods raised in the muggle world should have mandatory wizarding studies classes.
