Rather than allowing Harry to stay at Diagon Alley after he blew up Aunt Marge, the Ministry sends Harry back to the Dursleys. Harry returns to school after a terrible summer, to find that he's not the only one with this kind of secret. A student has been killed by his family. New screening measures are put into place by the Ministry: Every student must be given a medical exam and interview to look for child abuse. With Dumbledore facing an inquiry, Snape is entrusted with the task of making sure EVERYONE receives one.

- I think both Harry and Snape need to take courses on how to communicate clearly. Obviously, neither one is truly hearing what the other is saying.
Author's Response: Oh, yes. Unfortunately, Harry is thirteen and our Sev is under a lot of stress. Hopefully things will be better once Albus gets back.

- I think the world view for both Harry and Snape is about to be turned upside down, if it hasn't already. What ya wanna bet that Snape won't want to transfer his guardianship of Harry to anyone when the time comes?

- I think Harry missed the meaning of Snape's, "Clearly the dog IS someone's familiar." Wait until they figure out it's really Sirius in dog form. Poor Ron, now there will be two animals after his rat.
