When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

- I am really enjoying how Harry and Snape's relationship is building. And I like how you smoothed things over between Harry and Remus, too.

- I knew it! I kneeeeeeeeew something was off with Remus the moment he made those horrible suggestions for safe houses to go to. I've been waiting for this. I just wanna scream! Poor Harry. Well, Snape get over your hissy fit and get back to Harry!
Author's Response: Eek, Remus, whatcha doin??? Ha. Yes, I do wish I could have been more subtle about that, but on the other hand, I'm glad that it didn't come completely out of the blue. Hopefully Snape can get his butt in gear soon, because Harry needs a rescuing hero!!

- OH MY HEART!!! It hurts for both Harry and Snape. I really want them to clear the air, I love how their relationship has developed. I wonder if Lucius's help was sanctioned and what his role will be in the coming chapters. And no worries for how long it takes you to post, I will gladly wait as long as it takes for an amazing fic like this!

- OMG I want to HUG this chapter - and you for writing it! I love it when Harry gets to vent his feelings, he rarely gets to do that when he really needs to. The forgiveness is this feels so hard won and very genuine. My heart still hurts for them but I love how they have gotten to a place to start healing. Brava on a truly excellent chapter!
