When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

- OMG the absolute wonderful ANGST of it all!!!
At first I thought, no NO she would NOT kill Severus.
Then I thought, well he only said Harry would live, so yes he would die to save him... and then Harry got all powerful from his emotions seeing him dead - OH NO NO
Then Lucius says he lives and OMG I can breathe again!
I freaking love this fic!

- OMG are you kidding me with this chapter. It is so wonderful I wanna hug it to pieces! I absolutely love those times in fics were one character is not-so-lucid and says things that take another character by surprise and get all up in their feels, LOL! Hugs and humming from Snape - squeeeeee!

- OMG I am rolling in a puddle of angst and I couldn't be happier! Harry needs help, he needs Snape, and now he feels rejected... Oh My Heart!
Snape just doesn't understand how much Harry needs him, or that anyone could need him that way... and OH the feels that will be coming his way when he sees how Harry is suffering.
Have I mentioned how much I freaking love this fic???

- Oh Harry... that negative thinking is going to come back to bite him, I think.

- OH MY HEART! Ron is being a good friend and I loved the moment of comfort between them. Oh my heart sank when he took the adder's fork - especially when he didn't get a chance to return it. I worried what Snape's reaction would be, too. Then OMG that ending was wonderful! Snape in Dad-mode is just so heartwarming!

- So much wonderfulness in this chapter! I love Harry's conversation with Hunter and Snape being brave with the snake.
I worry about Harry's resolve to legilimize Voldemort, but I understand his reasoning - Severus is someone he loves and he's going to do whatever he can to help him.
Author's Response: Aw thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Yes, it's a risk, for sure, but he definitely thinks it's worth it!
Voldemort is dead, but the world is going to hell anyway. Harry is forced to go into hiding as Snape's son. Little does he know, it isn't just a useful disguise.

- Enjoying the fic very much. Lots of angst still, which I love. Glad to see Harry's magic is back. Your note at the end confuses me a bit. I think I may have missed something somewhere. At one point Harry thinks he still has a piece of Voldemort's soul in him, which makes him think he may still have to die to keep Voldie from using it to come back. And I'm assuming Harry wants to try and use parseltongue to open the chamber of secrets to prove the piece is still there? And now Snape has said that the last horcrux is gone, which may be affecting Harry's magic. And your ending notes say Harry is not a horcrux. Okay, is this something Harry doesn't know yet, or did I miss something? I've gone back to reread, but I'm not connecting any dots. If this is all still to be revealed later, I can accept that and just keep reading. Otherwise, a little help?
Author's Response: According to Snape and Lupin, Harry is no longer a horcrux because Dumbledore took care of everything. But, Harry received a message left to him by Dumbledore (when he snooped in the box containing the disarmed horcruxes) and is convinced that Voldemort either had made more horcruxes or that Harry is still one. I don't want readers to expect one sort of story when it's really another kind. Hope that helps!
