Poor Harry, wonder how he'll react when Snape tells him about what he really went to see Dumbledore about. Hopefully, it's all good! :) Hugs and Love, Vanime
Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Yes he does, Hopefully but Harry has always tried to see the good in everyone...So we will see. I think that Sirius wont be able to understand what he did wrong...and that is gonna...I cant give the story away lol

Just my thoughts, but I do love what you have done thus far, it's just that it doesn't seem like enough to me. But then I am a very evil person. :P Looking forward to the next chapter! Hugs and Love and Happy New Year! Vanime
Looking forward to the next chapter! Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Of course, its gotta be Dudley, I hinted at it a bit lol Third in the series Days We Learn From. In a darkening world where the war looms ahead, things couldn’t be more wrong. A new hand has been dealt out, and now Severus isn’t well, and this he knows. But what is it that is causing the fainting spells, and how long can he keep this a secret from his two adopted sons, Harry and Draco? More importantly, with the Dark Lord still furious over the discovery of Severus as a spy, how long can the little family continue to escape his clutches?

Sigh...really hope our Professor Snape gets a happy ending...sniff...and I want him to date Laura! I hate it when a favorite dies... Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Wow, glad you're enjoying it. First off, because Harry is his adopted son (he adopted Harry in the first story in this series, if you read it) Harry cannot get L.S., as it is passed through genetics and Harry has no blood connection to Snape. Secondly, there are a number of reasons for why Severus is not working on developing his own cure. He doesn't understand how Lethifold Syndrome works, and even the healers have limited knowledge of that, as the disease is realatively new. I know I haven't explained any of this, but it wasn't a priority of mine for Snape to try to cure himself, because in my mind he sort of understands that while he is a great potions master, this is out of his hands. On top of that, the healers - as mentioned in this chapter - have sent him a number of potions, and he was not sure of how he could have improved them or why they did not work. It's all sort of complicated, and quite a good question on your part. In the drawing board stage I did have a little bit of him trying to create a cure, but I had decided it was too dangerous for him to keep testing potions and he would not have the resources to properly understand how the disease was creating the effects inside him. Anyways, I really hope that explanation helps some, and I'm sorry if I never did mention any of this; like I said, I was focusing on other themes and such in the story! Thank you so much for the review Vanime, and the wonderful question that got my mind thinking! Cheers, Em.
But I do have to wonder about how you wrote - >That and travelling by fireplace floo these days made me feel like I had the stomach flu< I thought it telling that you had italized the word stomach. Are you saying that the healer had the wrong diagnosis??? I really hope so... Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Glad you liked the chapter Vanime. I just italicized 'stomach' to create emphasis to point out the play on words with floo (as in travelling by floo powder) and flu ( as in the illness), seeing as floo and flu sound exactly the same when spoken. Severus feels ill from travelling by floo powder because he has been dizzy from the lack of oxygen his lungs have been able to absorb (a side effect of a lung disease such as Lethifold Syndrome). Therefore, he feels dizzy before he even steps into the floo network. The floo network makes people dizzy as well, so him being dizzy already makes him feel even more naseous . So no, the Healers did not get the wrong diagnosis. Severus still has Lethifold Syndrome, and I was not hinting that they have misdiagnosed him. It was meant to be a joke. Hope that answers your question. :)
They just don't get a break do they?? Poor Sev, Draco and Harry - there's no easy way for this to end is there? Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback Vanime! Glad you liked the chapter, even if I am a bit of a "Meanie".
I also get the feeling that the Order will be examining their reactions and actions to Severus in light of the news of his dying of this disease. I have a big feeling that they are going to do everything they can to get Draco and Severus back from the Dark Lord. Wonder how Ron W. will be feeling about he's treated Severus too? Hugs and Love, Vanime Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback Vanime! |
