Minerva is going to have a fit. I can see why Harry didn't tell an adult about his detentions but they can't continue.
Author's Response: god all the adults rly ought to have fits.... this all happened directly under their noses lmao and it definitely cannot continue

Hmm. I wonder what the involved staff have planned for Harry's detention? I look forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: you’ll definitely be finding out in the next chapter so read on!

Ugh. Poor Severus. He is in for a nasty time. Hopefully they will have enough evidence to take down Umbridge after the detention.
Author's Response: he is in for a nasty time :( any time umbridge is involved it’s gonna be a bad time really

So Severus will have "I must not tell lies" scarred on his hands from now on. The things he does for the Light. I hope Lily, where ever she is, appreciates it. At least now they have the evidence.
Author's Response: he sure will, but at least he knew what the consequences would be going in and decided that the cost was worth it– to save harry, and all the rest of them, really, from umbitch

So Sirius knew about Harry's detentions. I'm surprised a certain black dog didn't attack Umbridge. I'm glad Snape and Black have agreed to work together for Harry's sake. That should be even easier once Harry tells Sirius about Snape taking his punishment.
Author's Response: sirius only knew as of that day, when McGonagall told him as she dropped harry off– otherwise, yea there definitely would have been a sudden and vicious dog attack at hogwarts... and yeah once sirius hears the whole story, things will likely go a lot smoother all around! thank you so much for reviewing!!! i really appreciated all your reviews :D
After Dumbledore’s death, Hogwarts has to be evacuated to ensure a proper turnover of the wards. Accordingly, McGonagall announces that everyone must leave for the winter holidays. With Bellatrix still on the loose, Harry has little desire to endanger his friends by going home with them, so he resigns himself to a terrible holiday spent with the Dursleys. Thankfully for him, Severus has been on the alert ever since he had uncovered bits and pieces of Harry’s childhood. When he discovers where Harry has gone, he immediately sets about putting the situation to rights.

I wonder if Minerva could intercede for Severus. Harry listens to her. It isn't like Snape had much of a choice in becoming Eli and he was a good friend to Harry as Eli.
Author's Response: the way i see it, Minerva is very busy at the moment, so while she would at least attempt to intercede if she knew, the only way for her to find out is for snape to tell her, which i think he would be reluctant to do, preferring to at least attempt to resolve the situation himself first

Harry, Harry, Harry. You REALLY need to talk to someone uninvolved. I hope he gets some help before he does himself some harm.
Author's Response: he does need to talk to someone :'(

That was good. Harry may be uncomfortable with Snape but at least he won't be abused. And he can't say the Severus wouldn't be able to handle an attack. I look forward to the confrontations with the Dursleys.
Author's Response: all very true!! although in harry's mind, i doubt snape is all that much better than the dursley's since snape did spend a good 5 years bullying and deriding him followed by a pretty sharp betrayal– they've got a lot to talk about

Wow. After the way Snape treated Harry when he fetched him from the Dursleys, I thought he might give Severus a little credit for his good will. I guess it is going to be a long, bumpy road to acceptance.
Author's Response: i mean snape hasn't done anything yet that can't be waved away by "mcgonagall made him do it" so snape really hasn't made any progress towards the breakthrough that he needs to make before harry will start to trust (though once he does manage that, it probably won't take too long before harry fully trusts him slkdfj)

Harry must be astonished. Not only did Snape offer him extra food, he didn't make Harry clean up after the meal. That should start to get a bit of trust built up.
Author's Response: oh he absolutely is shocked– and it will definitely go a long ways towards building trust... once harry has moved past confusion with the help of other things that snape will do :D
