Harry's sent reeling when he learns that Professor Snape is his bio dad, and if that were all he had to deal with, he'd probably be all right, but he's got werewolves, escaped convicts, a stubborn Dark Lord, and his own inner demons to deal with. Starts third year. Rating mostly for violence. Story deals with mental health, bigotry and child abuse. See more tags in Story Notes (Some are big spoilers so beware).

I'm so glad that Harry had that talk with Ron and later when him and Severus talked about Harry living with him. This is a big step towards him realizing that people really love him. As for the werewolves, as soon as that story started I knew Greyback was gonna trick that poor guy into killing someone. I feel bad for the guy but it's also a great show of how Greyback targets people who are vulnerable. It's one thing to read about Remus saying it, but another thing to read it happening. Anyway, great chapter as usual! Harry met Holly when she was two - abandoned in the park by her mother. Unable to leave her alone, he stayed behind to keep her safe. Over the years, they became as inseparable as brother and sister.
When Harry found out he was a wizard, he was happy to find that Holly was a witch too, and one day, she would enter his new world with him. Finding out he was a father to a nine-year-old girl, Severus Snape didn't hesitate to bring her home. His daughter belonged by his side, after all. Finding his daughter preferred Harry Potter over him was a travesty the Potions Master was not going to tolerate. Somehow, Severus had to make his daughter see Harry Potter as he did - worthless, useless, hopeless. I love Holly. I knew as soon as Draco broke Harry's sample she was gonna get back at him. Her causing the other Slytherins to confront Draco was just icing on the cake. Also, the little tidbit of Theo possibly having a crush on Harry is a nicely random and cute addition. I always love reading bits from the view of the side characters. It adds an interesting variety. Plus, Neville's one of my favorites, so I was happy to read something from his POV. 😄 Now I'm curious what Neville's mom could have done to make Malfoy owe her a favor. Author's Response: I love a good Harry&Neville friendship. He's such an underappreciated character in canon from the Trio's pov. But seeing the character development in canon was so amazing that as writer I can make it work so much earlier than canon and in a completely different way that it still remains in character. Whether Theo has a crush on Harry is debatable but Draco seems to be obsessed with Harry, doesn't he... And as for what Neville's mother could have done to have a Malfoy owe her, well, Lucius hasn't taken to sharing that with me yet so who knows.
Snape's perspective always fills me with anger though, not gonna lie. I wanna smack him so bad. Lol. 😆 Also, something about Malfoy sweating like a wet rat after a workout is funny as hell. Excellent addition to the story. 😆 Author's Response: The characters in the story aren't too different to RL people. We all have our own perspective and instincts and intuitions - a lot of which is based on out experiences. Some people deal with better than others. Snape comes under the category of needing help to deal with his issues. And sweating like that is probably something Lucius has never done before in his life 😆 Author's Response: The characters in the story aren't too different to RL people. I wonder how the handful of former death eaters betraying Voldemprt will effect the war, and if it'll change dynamics of some of the Slytherin students with the rest of Hogwarts. I'm also curious about the significance of Iris and Tobias's conversation. Anyway, great update! I'm happy to see the story continue, though this chapter did end on a really sad note.
And oh God, the scene with Harry and Holly made me cry! I'm so glad she got his letter before coming downstairs. I hope they can be reunited soon! Holly is gonna need so much emotional support dealing with all these changes in her life. Tobias is sure a piece of work, but the interaction between him, Snape, and Mallfoy sure was entertaining. Snape definitely gets his mouth from him.
I'm really looking forward to how this meal with Snape Sr plays out.
I also like how there's no real right and wrong narratively. We just see each person's perspective. It's interesting.
I've been waiting for Holly to confront Draco about his bullying and prejudices, and I was not disappointed. Really looking forward to how the next chapter plays out. Hopefully this is the start of Draco pulling his head out of his ass.
