Harry met Holly when she was two - abandoned in the park by her mother. Unable to leave her alone, he stayed behind to keep her safe. Over the years, they became as inseparable as brother and sister.
When Harry found out he was a wizard, he was happy to find that Holly was a witch too, and one day, she would enter his new world with him. Finding out he was a father to a nine-year-old girl, Severus Snape didn't hesitate to bring her home. His daughter belonged by his side, after all. Finding his daughter preferred Harry Potter over him was a travesty the Potions Master was not going to tolerate. Somehow, Severus had to make his daughter see Harry Potter as he did - worthless, useless, hopeless. As for the rest of the chapter, I'm always glad with how long you make these. There was so much stuff happening and it was a joy to read as usual. 😊 Also, I'm curious about how Harry was able to feel Holly's distress from so far away. I wonder if that will come into play again later. 🤔
Anyway, I love how distinct each character's voice is in your writing. I always struggle with that so reading this is a huge joy. As for Snape, I'm glad you're taking his relationship with Harry so slowly, so to speak. When people are wrong about something and have drenched themselves in the lie they've made, it takes A LOT to pull them out of it. It's a slow and painful process, and I think you've shown this brilliantly so far!
I like how the adults are getting so into exercising. It could lead into some interesting things later on. I'm also glad to see Dudley getting involved and I'm curious if his parents know about it. :)
I was wondering when Snape was gonna visit Ms. Figg. It definitely wasn't disappointing. I also like how this was a bit of a trip down memory lane, not just for the characters but for us, the readers. It's interesting seeing how far Harry, Holly, and Dudley have come. Though, I was partially hoping Snape would run into Petunia, just because I think the vitriol between them would be entertaining to read. Oh, well. Maybe some day. 😆 Anyway, thanks for updating! It's always fun to read a new chapter from you! 😁 Author's Response: Yes, it has taken Snape a ridiculous amount of time to realise the resources he's got at his disposal. He's still not using those resources correctly but perhaps he'll wake up soon
Oh no, a cliffhanger! I wonder if the kid was being controlled or polyjuiced. That's the only explanation I could think of to risk the wrath of everyone who cares for Holly in that room. Heck, just Harry is a force to be reckoned with. Anyway, great chapter as usual. Author's Response: I love how you think that no one would dare, however, I can quite confidently say that there's no spellwork or polyjuice involved. This is just good old fashioned stupidity and arrogance. Oh, nice! I wasn't expecting an update so soon! 😁 LOVED the vindictiveneas shown by Harry. I figured he'd put a sticking charm on Yaxley and was so happy to find out I was right so quickly. I also really liked how Harry stopped as soon as Holly told him to. That shows a lot of restraint. Random thing that I found interesting: It's interesting how both Draco and Snape thought Harry was too close to Ginny and Hermione respectively because he's dating Luna. It makes me wonder if they both are just making that judgement because of their bias against Harry, or if it also shows how they view friendships between men and women. Author's Response: I felt like the duel needed to be shown given how the last chapter ended and as it's one of the shorter chapters I was happy to post it. I was trying to show that as much as everyone knows that Holly listens to Harry above all else, Harry pays Holly in kind. It's not all one sided, hence Lucius's realisation at the end. In regards to Harry/Luna with Ginny & Hermione - it's a combo of what you've said. There's definitely bias and also their mindset Author's Response: I felt like the duel needed to be shown given how the last chapter ended and as it's one of the shorter chapters I was happy to post it. Oof. One step forward and another step back for Snape, I see. Still, at least he'll learn to keep his mouth shut about Harry... Hopefully. Draco, probably not. I like how Draco's friends are more cunning than him. Despite Draco's lineage and prestige, he acts a lot more on emotion than his peers which continues to bite him in the butt, but because he's so stubborn he's not learning from his mistakes nearly as much as he should. Having Snape enabling his dislike of Harry also adds to it, and will probably definitely have to be addressed. They're both creating a mini echo chamber. I'm curious how the addition of Umbridge as an active antagonist will go, especially in concerns to Malfoy Sr. She doesn't seem like she'd be much of a threat to him, but if she actually manages to throw him off his game somehow, it would be an interesting thing to see since he tries so hard to keep control. Anyway, fun chapter as usual, and I won't lie, I made an embarrassing happy squeal when I saw you updated. It was a nice treat after work. 😁 Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review. Yes, I do believe Draco and Snape are enabling each other. Draco is taking a lot of his cues from his godfather and I think Severus is glad that there is someone on his side, even if said person is a teen. As for Umbridge- who knows? 🤷r05;a92;a039;
I liked the beginning with Regulus and the PI, and it's good to see some sort of continuation in regards to the search to save Harry and the sass of the PI was funny. I also liked the little check in we got on Dudley. It's nice that he's come such a long way. Lastly, as per usual, it's always funny to see the people new to working out try to get into fitness, particularly the people who refuse to take it seriously, like Draco. Author's Response: I'm trying to take fitness seriously myself, lol and trying to stay consistent. It's soooooo hard and Draco will learn that too. I didn't expect the PI and her connection to Eileen but when I was writing Regulus's pov it just all came tumbling out. When Harry is found guilty at the Ministry trial following the dementor incident, drastic measures must be taken to ensure his continued safety and freedom.
