About me:

Call me Suz!

I was introduced to fanfiction via a very slashy piece of, um, slash, which left me going "Aaaahhh! My no-longer-virginal eyes!"  I tentatively decided to explore the HP fandom some more despite the traumatic experience.  And what a treasure chest of literary talent I've found!  I greedily gobbled up everything within reach, and learned some very interesting  uses of wands and words and wit.  Not that I'm any good at applying them, oh no...

After tasting some of what the fandom had to offer, I found that, in general, I am fond of stories with: an existant, and non-stagnant, plot; in-depth characterisation; proper use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and humour in inappropriate (or deadly) situations.  That last one is a Must.  This means that, yes, I really don't care anymore if it's slash, het, gen, or other (What is this 'other', you ask?  Well, ...), so long as it's a story with appeal, charm, wit, and all the good stuff (i.e. plot).  However, I've found that most of my favourites, in all the fandoms I've visited, were gen (and essays and rants).  Imagine that!

So.  Why did I join a gen Snape-Harry community?  Lack of sleep.  Kidding!  The canon and fanon Snape-Harry interactions are some of the most intense moments of the HP world.  Such passions they arouse in each other!  Such murderous passions!  And the complexities of their situations and circumstances and 'sheer history' make what they say and do all the more poignant, all the more meaningful.  As somebody (I honestly cannot remember who) once wrote in their lj, whether Snape meets Harry on the fields of love, hate, family, or torture room  a la Dark Lair (ok, i made that last one up), they always manage to push each other to the edge.  I am addicted to the play of power and passion between Snape, the evil jerk, and Harry, the idiot saviour.  Especially when they're not just evil jerks or idiot saviours.

Beautiful!  The dialogue was like a very controlled whirlwind.  gosh, i love your dialogue.  The friendly banter back and forth was like watching a juggling act.  And Minverva's really cool.  The theory about the scar-tattoo induced hate, that was the first time I've heard of the idea.  It would make sense, too (except Draco is still really hates Harry, but I guess it's all natural hate there).

Post-HBP. Harry runs into Snape. They manage to communicate for once.

Wow, Bil!  You're really good at description - it all felt a lot more real than words on a screen ought.  And the dialogue!  You have a great vocabulary.  My favourite line:  "...Snape snarled, face twisted into an ugly expression that almost looked like pain."  It was so primal, and passionate.

I was a tad scared starting this story (thought there might a a sad ending where they end up killing each other, haha silly me) but the reconcilation was really nice.  They totally deserve it.
