- What a terrific story!! I absolutely loved this!! And how awesome of Snape to make an emergency portkey out of one of Harry's broken toy soldiers from his childhood!! Vernon should be drawn and quartered - and Snape's the man to do it!!
I'm looking forward to your new story, and I'm hoping that Harry and Snape can develop a friendship/mentorship!!

Sorry I'm late to review, but I've just only now found your fic and read to here - I love this fic!! I like that your Severus is still the snarky sarcastic b@st@rd we all know and love, and Harry is still a somewhat moody teenager!!
Severus' rescue of Harry was simply the most brilliant thing ever!! With the explosions and the curses and the flight/fight in the forest!! And that healing chant made me choke up a little!!
I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see how Severus, and now Harry, gets out of this battle hopefully more of less intact!!

I love this story - I squinted my way through the captivity/torture (I'm a bit sqeamish that way) because I could see what a brilliant writer you are, and I had confidence that you weren't putting Harry through all that for nothing, and I was right!!

- YES!! Go Snape for pointing out a few home truths to Dumbledore, and standing up for Harry when he needs it most!!
Canon!Dumbledore has always struck me as being just as bad as the Dursleys for sending Harry back there year after year, and I love how you've shown him out as the manipulator that he is!!

- Yes!! I'm so glad that Harry is standing up for himself!! Even if it does hurt Remus' feelings a bit, The Order told Harry they would protect him, and they failed him!!
I'm sure this will underline Snape's resolve to become Harry's guardian, and be a real guardian, and do the hard work that involves and not just pat Harry on the head and let him wander off willy-nilly into danger!!

Poor Harry!! The burden of being the Saviour of the Wizarding World, and the pressure of feeling that he's going to be a failure before he's even begun!! I'm afraid Severus really does have his work cut out for him if he hopes to try to put Poor Harry back together again!!

Harry was perfectly right in showing Dumbledore just what he's lived with and put up with and had to endure because of Dumbledore's actions and inactions, and I'm glad that the old coot will have to live with those memories now and I only wish he's feel the actual physical pain too!!
I only hope Severus doesn't get too shirty with Harry, I don't know how much more Harry can take, and I hope Severus realizes that in time before his actions harm Harry too!!
Really Terrific Chapter - that only way it could have been better was if Dumbledore was bleeding out the eyes!! As always, I'm looking forward to the next one!!

- OOH, a sequel - yes, definitely put me on the list voting for a sequel!!
This chapter was superb - Harry's last line made me squee in joy!! I am both nervous and cautiously optimistic about the beginning of the school year - I think it will probably be awful, both I'm hoping Harry will be able to face up to it - with Severus' help of course!!
I'm glad Harry had a chance to think about how he would respond to any tormenting and that he realized that he shouldn't really become like his enemies, but instead take the high road, which is a very very difficult, even challenging (Ha!) think to do!!
I'm also glad Harry that Harry is getting back on track with Remus, because I'm afraid he's going to need all the help he can get, and I'm a little worried about Ron and Hermione's reactions when they learn what Harry's been through - you seem to be foreshadowing that they'll still be Harry's friends (from the letters), but I think there's a lot of awkward moments coming between them all before things settle down again!!

I just love your Severus and Harry chats - you manage to keep both of them IC, and yet you give us a glimpse at theirs softer sides that are growing closer to each other!! Harry really does need someone to take care of him and put his needs first, and Severus need to have someone to take care of so he doesn't turn into a complete git!!
