- Wow!! Fantastic chapter!! Severus did a really good job of talking with Hermione and Ron, even though Ron was being a bit of a prat, and he managed to convey the awfulness of Harry's experience without getting too horribly graphic - I'm glad Ron redeemed himself by stopping Hermione's inquisition, and I hope that Harry will be able to go to school without too much trauma!!
I'm very much looking forward to the sequel - I'm not sure if because Lucius is disowned if that affects Draco's position in the Wizarding World or if he's banished his father too. Either way, I imagine that we'll be in for some major fireworks over the events of the summer, or maybe Draco will see how his father's been repaid for his loyalty to Voldemort and decide to change sides - I can hope?!

- OMG!! Yaaay!! I'm so glad that Draco's not a complete @ss like his father and that Harry is trying to see beyond his hatred of Lucius and give Draco a second chance!! I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a trick - Harry is so cautious, especially after his kidnapping, that it would be devastating to have his tentative overtures to Draco come back to bite him!!
This was a fantastic story and I've really really enjoyed it (well, not the torture so much!) and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Harry gets along this year - I love the solution Severus has come up with for Harry, and I'm wondering how long Harry will be needing to use it for, and if he can ever get back to attending classes as usual!!

Hi Scarlett, Thanks for the review! Many of your questions (okay, all of them) will be answered in the sequel, which will prominently figure Draco, in all his, uh, glory, and the further ramifications of Snape's leaving the DEs, as well as more healing for Harry, and how he deals with his friends now. I should have the first chapter to the sequel out in a week or two, though I'm still in search of a title . . . :-)
As a first year, Harry is sorted into Slytherin instead of Gryffindor, and no one is more surprised than his new Head of House.

- Dumbledore is a D*ck!! Hopefully though, Severus can use Dumbledore's D*ckishness to save Harry from having to go back to the Dursleys!!
Poor Harry!! He really doesn't think he deserves anything good in his life, does he? Severus will have his work cut out for him, I'm afraid, but if anyone has the stubbornness needed to work on Harry's self-esteem it's Severus!!

- Yes!! Go Poppy - she knows that Severus has a huge blind (rage) spot where Potters are concerned (and why!), so I'm glad she's helped start a fire under him with regards to Harry's situation!! I'm hoping that the Dursleys' are in for a major Snape!Smiting!!
Poor Harry's being so brave, but he really does need someone in his corner!!

- Oh Poor Harry!! It must have been very hard for him to submit to that exam thinking that no good would come of it, and that he's far more likely to get into severe trouble with the Dursleys should Child Wizarding Services show up in Surrey!! He was very brave!!
Now I'm hoping Severus can look past his Potter-hatred and see what's going on with Harry and kick some Dursley butt!!

- OMG!! What did the Bloody Baron DO to poor Harry?! Or was it even the Bloody Baron at all - maybe someone else Confunded Harry, and made him think it was the ghost!!
I do hope it's not one of his fellow Slytherins!! It would be too awful if Harry couldn't even be safe in his own House!!
Although I can't wait to see Severus dole out some well-deserved punishment to the miscreants!!

- Yes!! I am soooo glad that Severus has reassured Harry that he won't be the one to pay (for once!) if (when) the Dursleys turn nasty!!
And now Severus can see the problems Harry's been having, and I'm hoping he's going to do something about them!!
I love your Harry - he's such a brave little guy, he's been through so much but he's still trying to do the best he can!!
