- When I tell you I shrieked, I'm not kidding. The moment Hermione uttered the word "Harry" I shrieked and started to tear up. I know I said I was going to go back and re-read the other day, but I had to put it off due to a migraine that I've been fighting. I'm still dealing with it, but as soon as I saw this update I had to read regardless.
Also poor Elias, poor Severus even! The heartache Sev must feel for Elias and the deep terror that Elias is feeling...I could feel it oozing out of the words - which is probably why I shrieked because I was so enthralled in the story.
Any way, thank you again - and I NEED MORE! But I understand work... I'm currently working now. Well... waiting for calls. Yay working IT!

- I've already read through the other 2 chapters, but I wanted to come back and review. This is definitely an interesting take on having Severus and Harry be neighbors.
I always wondered about the blood wards... like - how far out do they actually extend? Every author seems to have their own idea on it, and I haven't read the actual books in so long I can't even remember if there was anything mentioned about it in them.
Either way, I really like where this story is going, this beginning chapter was quite loaded. I feel so bad for Harry. :(

- I don't have enough to say tonight to review all 3 chapters, so chapters 1 and 3 will have to suffice, yeah?
It's a tribute to your writing when I say that this story has me anxious. Like, the whole vibe is dark and depressing in a way that's different from most abuse stories. Maybe Harry's struggle is so detailed that you get pulled in to the story and feel what he's feeling.
You've always been my favorite author - I'll have you know. Just the other day I found another story/author that I loved, and I thought "Man, she's almost as good as JAWorley!"
I kind of judge the stories I read based on how good they are compared to yours, which may sound strange - and I don't know why I'm saying it, but I felt the need to let you know that's how much I truly adore you and your writing.
Anyways, to the story again.
I want SO BAD for Harry to be ok in this story. I want him to eventually (maybe? one day??) warm up to Severus a little, or at least realize that he's there to help him and not hurt him.
I also really hope Severus doesn't drive him away. He did well to adopt him, and that's a good way to keep Dumbledore off their back a little, for a bit anyways - but I'm still afraid the Headmaster will muck things up.
Anyways, I've rambled enough. I can't wait to see where this story goes!

Does the other author you mentioned write HP? If so who is it so I can check out their work :p I love reading awesome HP fan fic and am always open to suggestions.

He makes me want to pull my hair out, though I know he's so used to being mistreated that any kindness coming his way will seem false but still - I want to smuck him on the forehead and tell him to open his eyes.
I sincerely hope Severus will keep his patience long enough for Harry to come around and realize that this arrangement is for good - and he's safe.

- It's an interesting twist, having Harry be on the mature end and not give in to her goading. I can't wait to see how this bothers her - I know she's got something in store for Harry, but what?
Also, it will super interesting to see Severus react to her going after Harry. I can't wait!

- Ok - I know this was more than likely just a one-shot, but this was so heart-meltingly adorable that I just wish there were more.
I would love to see the relationship start to develop, and of course the Dursley's get their comeuppance.
Severus was the perfect mixture of blind hatred and snark until he finally opened his eyes and finally realized what was in front of him.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I was delighted to read it. I thought about additional chapters showing the development of their relationship but then, fearing that I would certainly ruin something, ended the story there.

- I just binged the rest of the stories you posted because I so loved Namesake Necklace, and I KNOW I came in to this one realizing there was only 3 chapters, but I got so.... enthralled, that I forgot and when I got to the "To Be continued..." portion I sputtered in disbelief.
I can't tell you how happy I am to see more of this story, I'm so in love with your Snape and Harry, and I love Eileen... and Umbridge is going to be one hell of an antagonist here I think.
What did she do to Harry during that meeting, I KNOW she did something. Was it with the touch? Was it the strange perfume she had the letter smelling like? (though Severus probably would have detected something?)
Oh I can't wait for the next chapter!

now that I've got that out of my system, I really love how insidious she is, and I really - REALLY - hope that when Severus figures out what's up to, he gets her back for what she's doing.
Is she doing this to anyone but Harry? Has she had the chance to? Is she only doing it to Harry right now?
Also, I notice Hermione noticed/felt something was wrong...
This just keeps getting better and better and now I have so much to sit and consider. Definitely looking forward to the next chapter.

- I wish I could properly portray how much I love this story, but I know words won't do my feelings justice.
I check the site a few times a day to see if there's been an update, and squeal in delight when I see a new chapter. I love how things are starting to come to light and a bit of the confusion that I've been dealing with is starting to make a bit of sense. I'm more enthralled with Harry and Severus though, I love their interactions, and live for those little moments between them.
Thank you for writing such an amazing story and I can't wait for the next chapter
