- That Severus is doing anything for Harry in the first place is more than he's ever had -just for his birthday- before. Sure, there was Diagon Alley on his 11th, but that was more for school than his birthday. And I wouldn't be surprised if Hedwig was a truly last-minute thing as Hagrid walked by the Owl Emporium.

- What a gift, having an entire trunk full of your parent's things. But now I'm worried because that's a lot of stuff and Harry doesn't have anyplace safe to keep it short of putting it all (or nearly all) back into his Gringotts vault. What would be absolutely wonderful, is if Harry could keep things at Severus' place during the school year. And not just the things like Lily's wedding dress, but like his first-year school books as well. But there's still time. There's still a little over a month left of summer, and then the entire school year, to figure things out. Since Harry now has his mother's Strawberry Meadows, I don't see it much of a stretch for Severus to give Harry the foal as a companion. Because one just does not a herd make.
Well, at least with Harry's birthday, he's not expecting much, if anything. I have a feeling that Severus has been stressing over it more than Harry even bothers to think on it beyond the passive thought. Hopefully, no matter what Severus comes up with, it'll lead to Harry being pleasantly surprised.

- Welp, it's not the first time that Harry's been locked into a closet for ages on end. At least in Severus' he has room to move, light and is somewhat comfortable. And with that reaction, it is definitely a genuine mistake leaving him in there for... however long it's been. At least half an hour. Definitely not long enough to skip a meal though. And with it being the display case, well, Harry's fascinated with the statuettes too, so it might take a bit more than just unlocking the door to get him to come out of the closet (Ooh, sorry. That was just begging to be said).

- At least Harry didn't get motion sick. Though, I think the horse might have if it could. Snape, I have no doubt that he either sneaks anti-nausea potions or is one of the blessed that just doesn't get motion sick, no matter what.
Heh, after spending the night in 'Harry's' room, it'd be funny if Marble got attached to either that room or the boy himself. Didn't realize it could actually fly though.

- I know they're not there yet... but since Harry seems just as enamoured by the horses as Lily seemed to be... wouldn't it be something to get Harry started one his own collection for his birthday. I'm not like an expensive one, but maybe one of Severus' duplicates or a cheaper one. Something to catch his interest but ultimately only the value that Harry puts into it.
Harry gets caught sneaking around in the dungeons. Snape grounds him before realising he isn't one of his Slytherins. They are stuck with each other until the spell stops.

Well, at least they have the perfect setup for this little plan (As Slytherin it is, hiding in the guise of Gryffindor stupidity). Because it's no secret in the school that Harry and Snape Loathe each other. Now, the trick is to not get those unaware caught up in the web so deeply that something Bad happens.
Still dealing with the events from Kinship, Harry and Severus pick up the pieces that had been left behind. However, is there an even sinister plot afoot for them this year?

- Well, Remus has walked into a minefield that he wasn't aware of. Not even the 'safe' questions are safe with this situation. Then again, Harry's been wound up like a spring for nearly an entire year by now and most of his usual interactions are just winding him up tighter. While Aurora is the actual patient, I think that at least Harry could do with his own sessions as well. (and possibly Severus) They all have their demons in the closet, some more literal than others.

- I think the punishment fits the grade. He knew what he was getting into, after all. Now, the question is, whether Snape confiscates the schnapps, or turns the other way. He is nearly of-age, after all. Whether it be potions or cooking, artistry and instinct is key to making a good product great.
