When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

- Oh, crap! And you finish on such a cliffhanger! It has been my unfortunate observation that many writers reach a major cliffie and never update again, don't be like them! Stay focused and strong, and keep away from the blasted coronavirus [and the writer's block]! I'm anticipating a torturous forthnight - happy writing!
How can they get away now? My guess is that Harry needs to perform some miracle.

- So we come to the crux of the issue of trust - I really want to see how evil Tom will spin this betrayal. Harry of two months ago would fly into a rage, but I don't think that Harry who knows of the letter treasured for twenty years could do that. He will be devastated however.

I think you know Harry pretty well! Yeah, it really is different now, isn't it? Harry of even one month ago probably would have dissolved into rage. Now though... Will it be better because he knows of the letter, etc? Or will it be worse because he thought they'd built some trust between them? Only one day to find out! :D
How are things in your corner of the world? My state issued a stay-at-home order earlier in the week, but I don't know how seriously people are taking it because 1) they as much as said they're not doing anything to enforce it and 2) I haven't left my house in almost 2 weeks, so I'm kind of unaware of what's going on out there. ha. It's such a weird time!!! Be well!

- Harry didn't disappoint, funnily enough it was evil Tommy reminded Harry that not only James was murdered but also Lily who had been Snape's friend. I'm curious what Malfoy is up to - could it be that he doesn't really want Draco to live under Tommy's boot? What will Snape say now? The poor guy is completely baffled.
About covid19 - in Poland we don't have very many confirmed cases yet [3503] but there are more new cases every day, and the growth rate is speeding up. 17 percent are medical staff which is the worst ratio in Europe. We've been on increasing lockdown for three weeks, and the economy is on the verge of collapse. And yet the most important thing for our autocrative government is making the presidential elections happen without delay [10th May], the latest idea is vote by post only [ran by parliament and added to the election codes by 6th May at the earliest.
As for my situation, I'm incredibly lucky to live in a house with garden, away from other people. I'm worried about my job, I work online, but already half my hours have been cut. Stress all around, recently I had a throat ache and it made me really anxious even though I ruddy know I had no contact. Madness, eh?

Yeah Voldy really needs to get in touch with emotions and realize that sometimes he shares things that hurt his cause. Also, he's not great at inspiring loyalty in his followers right now, with his coocoo craziness.
It IS madness! Thanks for the insight into things in Poland. I'm sorry you have to deal with all that stress! Interesting about the elections. I wonder how much is going to change after this? I can see a big shift towards remote work and online communication in more and more areas. Please stay healthy - take care of yourself and do lots of stress-reducing activities!
I live in the southwest US, and things are varying state by state. There are about 4,000 cases / 150 deaths in my state, and the governor has been both cautious and relaxed about things. We're under a Stay at Home order, but they're not enforcing it by law. Still, almost everyone I know is abiding by it. At least it helps that where I live is pretty spread out, so it's not too difficult to maintain social distance.

- It has been a sweet chapter, and I can just imagine Snape sighing each time Harry asks about class... Snape is going to find it hard to abandon the child.

- Hi, wonderful that you're back from holiday [I know I've been a bad reviewer lately, but I've been reading].
So, I'm very disappointed with the adults in the story, especially Dumbledore, McGonagall and Pomfrey who failed completely. Snape, well, I would rant at him a lot more than Harry did. Addiction ugh the poor kid! I'm imagining an awful time ahead for Harry.

- I can't describe how pleasant it is to wake up in the morning and find a new chapter waiting for you... I'm proud of Harry's restraint re: adder's fork, but really sad and worried that his fear of rejection by Snape will cause trouble. Will Snape be even able to recognize it?
The gift - maybe new glasses?
I wonder if Snape would reconsider his stance on potions, knowing that Harry's many mistakes likely happened because he didn't see the instructions correctly?
