When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

- I can't stand it. This is literally everything I could ever want in a fanfiction. Your characterization is perfect. Everything is believable and realistic. You don't overdo the abuse or speed up the relationship building. It's just all so perfect. And new. Like it's not just the same thing everyone else has done. I love it.

- I'm rereading this for the thousanth time because I wanted to remember the progression of their relationship with all the new chapters lol. And now that I have with the new info I have noticed a lot of for shadowing that I never noticed before. i am curious if this was for shadowing on purpose:
He was even pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn’t all drudgery. Once he got past the dull introductory chapters, there were quite a few fascinating facts about Occlumency and tactics an Occlumens could use. It wasn’t all about fending off attacks, he learned; it was also about mastering misdirection. When he got to the chapter about ways in which strong emotion could be tethered to specific memories, which could then be used to misdirect a Legilimens, he read the chapter twice through and marked it for future study.
I just ask cause that's kind of what barru did with Voldemort. He used the emotion of love and those memories which really fucked with Voldemort s head. Idk if that was done on purpose. I already think your fucking brilliant and if it was done on purpose than that just shows even more brilliance than I realized lol but if not: don't worry. You're still brilliant
Author's Response: Thanks so so much for the review! I love it when people pull out things that I put in the story, not sure if anybody would ever notice. :) Honestly, I do put seemingly inconsequential things in that I plan on being important later, but sometimes I also get inspired by past chapters to expound on things that weren't necessarily planned. This one was about half and half. I knew that I wanted Harry to use that bit of Occlumency and that it would tie into his battle with Voldemort, but I wasn't 100% certain yet exactly how it would play out. :)
