- Oh thank Merlin! I was thinking that remus might be more loyal to harry -- or at least to his dead friends-- so it'd be good to tell him now before he could find out and it get twisted around by hermiones stupid theories. Honestly, her theories had the whole school bullying Elias for a little while there (we haven't forgotten that lol). Glad severus has him there to help go through this with. Umbktch definitely is going to raise a fuss now that snape has publicly snubbed her. Hopefully her reaction doesn't endanger Elias too much. Also it's interesting to ser the whole of slytherin react to notts death. On one hand, it could be used to suss out who may be swayed from the dark side... on another hand, most stories don't usually have a slytherin parent as..liked. y'know there's lucius who everybody thinks is slimy usually and sometimes narcissa who can go either way. But this has to be one of if not the first ff I've read where a parent of a slytherin is actually a good person, or at least a person who the students like. Really cool plot
Author's Response: Don't forget, Nott also tortured his wife while she was pregnant and ended up killing his infant daughter by-proxy. Don't forget that part too. Just because he is a wealthy benefactor does not mean that he was an upstanding individual in the slightest. The not all of the Slytherins are wealthy, so they aren't able to buy their position into a job unless they have a benefactor behind them. For the ambitious Slytherins, a leg up is a leg up no matter where it comes from. Sure, some of them wouldn't take the offer, but others... Yeah. Easy way to recruit for the Death Eaters too.

- So they're going to hook him up to a machine in a muggle hospital that will give him continuous electricity? If I'm understanding I mean. That'll certainly put remus and Elias on the magical map for their research if it works! I can't figure Dumbledore or voldemort being dumb or oblivious enough to not work this out now -- super magic kid somehow knows a snake is in the ministry and is able to apparate in and kill it in time to save the father of harry potters best friend? Yeah the secrets toast. Can't wait to see the chaos keep unraveling! Awesome chapter

- Oh dear me, it's all over. There's no possible way to explain Elias being there or having the vision or knowing thr snake was there without Dumbledore finding out that he is harry potter. And since voldemort was likely watching through naginis eyes, he probably has a good look at Elias. He might not know who he is just yet but he'll know the boy is a threat and he might be too insane to put it together (hopefully) but one of his death eaters like Lucius isn't. Oh man when you say chaos you really *mean* it. I wanna be angry at frank for encouraging something that reckless. And I wanna be mad at Elias for putting himself (not to mention snape) in this position with no good possible outcomes. But that's who he's always been anyway isn't it? And I'm just too plum happy that frank and Alice really aren't as far gone as the healers think -- they are more aware and capable than they've let on and I think they're going to be a big help in severus figuring out how to help Harry's shervil condition. After all, they're in there because of the cruciatus too right. Anyway, great chapter. I for one couldn't stop reading
Author's Response: Yeah, there's going to be a lot of fall out from this one, but we'll deal with that when we come to it. As is, we just need to keep him alive. I told you it's going to be chaos! Yeah, Frank and Alice aren't totally there, but they're not totally gone either. And yes, they're in St. Mungo's because of the Cruciatus curse canonically. Fun fact, this fic was originally going to be a 'lets cure them!' fic, but that went off the rails a while back (partially because I let the ethics of what I was planning to do to Frank and Alice get in the way). There is a secondary plan, but its much less Longbottom-centric.

- Oh man this is not going to be pretty. If she says a bad word to elias, snape might actually snap. Mcgonagall sucks for thinking be couldn't follow directions; kid has a limp and it's not like anybody was there for that seat yet. Freaked me out when I saw a notification of an update and I had just caught up today too! Thanks a lot, it was great!
Author's Response: I mean, no one knew what was going on with him. That's the worst part of invisible illnesses or symptoms of a disability: everyone expects normality until proven otherwise. Memory issues are particularly difficult to deal with because it takes copious amounts of patience to deal with someone needed things repeated repetitively. Glad you enjoyed the chapter though!

- Glad elias won't really have to deal with the toad. I wonder, she won't be happy that two teachers left while she was speaking. Might even try to keep elias from joining the meals if she finds out about the fulgurs. Will he get to sit with draco? I think his friendship is going to make a huge difference to canon events. Awesome chapter!

- I absolutely love this nature competent version of Tonks you've created. People usually just make her this clumsy,.... Well, jester. Although I hope she doesn't cause problems with elias. Harry just wants to move forward and her digging could cause issues. But I'm also anxious cause she could figure out they abused the heck outta the poor kid and dumbledore would go down for telling everybody harry was being treated like a prince all that time. Snape really is a great father and I'm glad to see you bring that out of him. Glad draco and the slytherins are going to be looking out for him, though I didn't doubt it really. Poor elias, seizure on the first day and now people actually think he's a drunk. Even when he's not harry he can't get away from the stupidity of hogwarts students. Glad neville recognized the potions actually. It's evidence kinda caus no one would expect him of all people to help snape cover something up so neville knowing what they are is like a boost up to elias and snape's cover story. Awesome chapter as usual!
Author's Response: Yeah, Tonks is one of my favorite characters and it irks me to no end when people make her solely a clumsy person and forget that she didn't get her job as an auror for no reason. Hello?! They even go into some of the class requirements to get into the program in the books! Competent!Tonks is canon af. Just the passing the potions OWL/NEWT alone with Snape as the teacher for her entire school career should say something to that effect. I gotta say, Snape as a father is one of those things that could go either way. I prefer the "type A, almost overbearing, detail oriented" type but have utmost respect for anyone who can write any flavor of Dad!Snape. As for the drunk comment, kids make up rumors all the time. When you have the scary dad, you know those rumors aren't going to go far.

- The boy who might be harry's biggest fan turns out to possibly be elias biggest threat. That photo could sneak a thousand words (I can't remember if elias still had the scar but even without it, doesn't he still look like lily a bit) or even it'll just be the prophet taking the pic and running with it trying to see who knows anything about elias. Poor kid can't catch a break. Though it may be wishful thinking, I kinda maybe got the feeling that the kids weren't die hard death eater wanna bes. Interesting that you had another character who had harry's disease. The disease is the one thing that's 100% infallible even, no one can check his medical stuff and say he doesn't have it. So theo knowing a bit about it makes it more credible (at least in my mind ... Y'know how somebody has something and you've never heard of it so you're like is that even a real thing) so anyway, awesome work on this chapter!
Author's Response: Potential biggest threat! There are so many different ways that this could fail apart and... I'm super excited to post the next chapter, but I don't wanna give spoilers and I need to finish another few before I post that one so I have a bit of a bigger backlog of chapters to pull from... I like studying strange or obscure diseases, it interests me greatly and really helps with my IRL job. There has been a lot of times where I learn about a new disease only for it to come up either in conversation or as an actual diagnosis at work. Very rarely do these things exist on their own, and in a insular community like the wizarding world (which has just gotten out of a major conflict within these children's life spans) I'm very certain someone somewhere would have been exposed to the same diagnosis or at least a similar one.

- Ron's an idiot but if he tells Hermione's what harry was saying before they flooded in, I'm sure she'll figure it out.... or maybe not. She's always been pushy and a bit too self important-- it's like she thinks whatever her thoughts are are the most important thoughts on the subject regardless the subject matter. Like when she criticizes harry or automatically assumes stupid stuff and harry and Ron go with it cause everybody expects her to be the only smart one in the trio. Anyway, it was a great chapter. I'm glad mcgonagall stood up for Elias but I certainly see the griffyndors getting worse before they get better. I mean they turned on harry for the whole year second year when they thought he was slytherin their until he saved Ginny at the end. I know he wanted to befriend people of different houses, but I hope snape can see that it's not going to be a good idea until his memory lapses are a bit better under control. As it is, he could be sitting with the puffs and ststt crying about Cedric and give the whole game away. Did I mention awesome chapter? I got a new phone and literally the first thing I'm doing is setting up my chrome browser so I can read your new update a86;

- Oh gosh harry figured out how to increase a wizards magic with muggle electricity? That totally explains why magic and electricity never seem to work out; the magic is increased so much that the wizard is probably basically using a sledgehammer where a regular hammer used to do the job (that made sense in my head). I personally hope Ron doesn't go any further with his thoughts; he'd be one of the worst people to know the truth. The second he got angry about some stupid thing he'd rat Elias out to Dumbledore and any body else, as evidenced by how he and Hermione's turned the entire school against Elias when they had legit 0 evidence to do so. I was ecstatic to see draco go visit harry. I'm hoping the day comes soon where Elias can tell draco the truth of his identity; I mean, I think right now maybe draco is still caught up in being what lucious wants him to be but one day maybe he'll be his own man and he'll value Harry's true friendship over the false pride of a father who only cares when he's not meeting his standards. I think harry should be careful with remus too. I mean he's not dumb, he'll realize "harry had a friend with a port key and the friend died and that was recent and oh guess what Elias had the same situation recently? That's suspicious"... I feel like Elias is on borrowed time and I just wish it wasn't so. He might have some impairments as Elias but I think he's much happier and freer to be himself as Elias than he ever was harry. I couldn't believe you updated so soon but as always I'm ridiculously glad you did!
Author's Response: There's much more to the electricity problem than just hammers of varying sizes, but we'll get there in the end. I don't want to give too much away! I want so badly to respond to every part of your reviews, but if I do I'm going to end up dropping spoilers like mad and I don't want to do that!
