As Harry enters his sixth year at Hogwarts, Voldemort's lengthening shadow stretches across the wizarding world and Harry is tormented by the knowledge that he alone can end this reign of terror. Worse, his mysterious mental link to Voldemort is stronger than ever and threatens to overwhelm him. Only Snape can teach him to control the nightmarish visions, but can Harry and Snape learn to trust one another, or will an old grudge that refuses to die destroy the wizarding world's sole hope of defeating the Dark Lord?

- Wonderful & convincing pace and characterisation. If I had to quibble, I'd question how easily the conflicts are resolved and long-term resentments are put aside, but hey, I suppose that's what fanfic is for. Always happy to see people stand up for Snape!

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

- Thank you so very much for writing, and continuing to write this - the characterisation, pace, and prose style are just so consistent & delightful. I haven't followed a regularly updating fic in a very long time, but this one just doesn't disappoint (not to put too much pressure on you!). Of course, it's also agonising......like this chapter!!

Voldemort is dead, but the world is going to hell anyway. Harry is forced to go into hiding as Snape's son. Little does he know, it isn't just a useful disguise.
