When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

    I have to say it anyway and pay my respects.
    The story is amazing. The development is well-paced, the language fabulous and the characterization realistic yet GOOD.

    Now, where is chapter 45???

    Hey!
    Seeing your new post, I started reading this story before. I do have a fear of spoilers...
    I LOVE the relationship between Harry and Snape! It avoids the typical pitfalls of him becoming all warm and fuzzy at some point in the story (beginning or end) and the other typical method of two downers in the relationship and then all perfectly good from thereon. I think the awesome factor is in the continuous see-saw in the relationship, with the sustained respect.
    Can't wait to finish it, and on my own time!
    Hope my ramble here is somewhat illuminating.

The relationship between Snape and Harry is very complex on multiple levels. Departing from canon, it’s a huge challenge to explore what can become of their relationship, but one thing is certain: it will take time.

    This is a masterpiece.
    I think it is partly the unusual premise and mostly the way it is structured, with Harry telling the story and slowly unraveling more of the mystery. Another big factor is his internal dialogue; it is _superb_.

    Yay! Another chapter. And just as well-written as the other ones. I can't wait to see the fallout of Violet's attack (and the sneaking in!)
    This story is extremely well-constructed, the language fabulous, the characters and their flaws realistic and the conflict believable. I like the fact that Harry is not portrayed as a normal person with character flaws and that Cleo is such a complex character. Also, I love the detail and the fact that the conflicts are not rushed.
    The writing reflects on authors that are very self-aware and recognize human nature and their complexities.

    I'm cheering for both of you! Great chapter.
    I still need to reread the chapter to understand exactly what occurred between Harry and Draco. Poor Cleo, standing all steadfast in the face of her charges. What will happen to her educational dreams? That's what I like about your fic. It's like real life: All is complicated, it never ends well, but somehow, it's always okay.

    Wow.
    I need to reread this to understand fully what happened, but- bomb or portkey? Both? Someone abducted her?
    The last scene was a bit disjointed. I found myself wondering if it was a dream somewhere in the middle.
    Nice scene with Trelawney, btw.
    I'll keep on checking for the next chapter!
