I'm a lurker and have been ever since I was delighted to discover that FanFiction existed online about 12 years ago. I used to have nearly every Star Trek ff novel ever published, but it wasn't until I stumbled onto "LiveJournal" and found that they had a thriving ff community, writing ff for a couple of my favorite books and shows that FanFiction is alive and well and NOT JUST for us "old fogie" ST: TOS & SW fans anymore!😎
NO, HP is *not* one of those favorites.

As a matter of fact, it wasn't until 2012 that I accidentally read an SPNff story that was actually a crossover with an *unlabeled* and *untagged* HPff! I was already several pages in before they introduced an abused child named "Harry"!

That I'd found a writer who ACKNOWLEDGED the *child abuse* found throughout this "touted" and "ballyhooed" work of unattributed FANFICTION was, to me, a *revelation*! Prior to *that* story, I'd avoided HPff like the plague!

For me, to see the "Harry Potter" label on a story was the "kiss of death"!

I'm a Fantasy & Science Fiction BIBLIOHOLIC and have been since I was about 4-years-old, so when my husband's nephew came to live with us, in 2005, and I saw that he had the first 5 [HP] novels, I was *eager* to read them [picture "grabby hands ;D]! But the story *started* out /Dark/; I began to get a bad feeling when this creepy "Gandalf" knock-off started turning off streetlights! I was already unsettled when the teacher and "Gandalf" stood there debating leaving a 15-month-old *TODDLER* *OUTSIDE* on a doorstep in *November*! I just *knew* that "Gandalf" was going to turn out to be the real (true) villain of the books!

Nothing has changed my mind since.

Further reading of the 5 books saw me finding instance after instance of nearly direct *steals* from many *classic* Fantasy novels and MY childhood favorites; how could people tout books that were filled with unattributed plagiarism?

How could people *applaud* books that used unmitigated, unremedied, and even *IGNORED* child abuse and bullying (of MULTIPLE characters!) as *PLOT DEVICES*?!

Anyhoo, discovering HPff and finding that there are a LOT of writers --and READERS-- who feel as I do and work diligently to "write"(;D) the wrongs of the books are what has made me an HPff fanatical *fan*!

Thank you, HPff writers! Y'all keep me going and bring some sanity, humor, and justice to an insane world!

    Well, fine! I've been thinking that *everybody* pronounces Elias as *everyone* pronounces the Biblical name of Elisha (E-leye-sha); *nobody* pronounces it E-lee-sha!
    I couldn't believe when I watched a clip from one of the HP movies on YT (I wouldn't watch the movies on a bet! But I like to watch Alan Rickman anytime!) that they pronounced Lucius as Loo-see-us! Most ridiculous thing I ever heard! The American pronunciation is Loo-SHus!

    According to the Oxford Dictionary pronunciation guide: "ci", "si", and "ti" before and after a vowel are always pronounced "sh". Thus, Lucius = Loo-SHus. Leave it to the Brits (Aussies ARE Brits) to mess up a good thing! These are the same people who pronounce "aluminum" (al-loom-ee-num) as al-you-mini-um! There's no extra "i" after the "n"! Idiots!

    I've been calling him Eli for short cuz *that's* what *I* know.

    Now, that we're past that silliness: I was scared when he kept slurring that the anoxia had caused him brain damage which would be tragic!

    Sev *has* to get that damn thing out of him! I don't think he'll survive another curse!

    Elias at this point is really hard to read: Terry, my late hubby, fell into a tequila bottle in 2016 to "self-medicate" after weaning himself off over-prescribed pain pills. The onset of alcohol-induced dementia in late 2018 had *me* 1st trying to get him medical help and then get him into a "program" which he refused and finally had me fleeing for my own safety.

    Six months later he called to say he'd quit drinking, was sorry, and that he wanted me to come home. I came home.

    When going through cancer treatment, the Drs decided to put in a "port" for the 4 chemo treatments they'd scheduled and the "after treatment" they'd already planned to do. 3 days later, after the 1st chemo, the port was discovered to be producing bacteria. He was hospitalized for 20 days in Dec. of 2019 and suddenly experiencing severe dementia-like symptoms which abated just prior to his being discharged, but reoccured approximately a week before his 2nd biotherapy treatment and only worsened as the treatments went on.

    Dementia is a scary, scary thing! The person you love becomes a hateful, scary person and all you can do is hide the guns and anything else that he might try to hurt you with. The neighbors hear yelling and think *you're* the "bad guy"! Thank God the investigator they sent out *saw* firsthand what I was dealing with and gave *me* a card in case it got out of hand and *I* needed help.

    I never imagined that I wouldn't get to say goodbye to the man I fell in love with and married. The hospital took that decision from me!

    When *I* refused to allow them to euthanize him --they proposed to anesthetize him --*not* "sedate", *anesthetize* as if for surgery!-- and remove his oxygen and let him suffocate!--, they had me banned from the hospital as his advocate and DID IT ANYWAY!

    I found out later that the state of TN changed the laws, so you can't file charges against the Doctors or hospital nor can you sue them for wrongful death.

    So, not only did I have to watch my husband mentally disappear, but then I didn't even get to say goodbye to my love.

    I can't give you a 10 for the chapter just because it's so very heartbreaking and scary. :(

    Glad to hear it's "coming together soon"👍 but here's my thing: If someone tells me that they believe they've found the cause of my child's/loved one's deteriorating condition and the catalyst is one that could re-occur at any time...

    If say, my child is found to have a lesion on his brain and the lesion has caused brain-damaging seizures at least twice, further exacerbating a pre-existing condition and can re-occur at any moment going forward, I'm going to demand that the "lesion" be immediately removed!
    Of course, I'm not from in many ways, a *backward*, Victorian-era society that's not only *not* privy to "mundane" medical advancements but would probably sneer at the suggestion due to the perception** that *we* are a primitive and "backward" society, but I do have to wonder what say, 70 rads of targeted radiation would do to old Voldy-splinter or even a sonic scalpel or laser surgery that was just beginning to be experimented with, in 1995?

    My 1st point being that the "soul container" is obviously *physically* inside the scar or it would *not* cause bruising and swelling and can, therefore, be dealt with *physically*; Severus just needs to think outside of the magical box!

    And my 2nd point is that I'm *not* going to consult with others, come to a conclusion about the cause of my loved one's life-threatening condition and go back to work! So NOT HAPPENING!

    When I came back home in 2019 after our brief separation, and I found out that Terry's Drs had found a *tumor* beneath his breast bone and that they'd *still* done nothing to follow up nor do further diagnostics(!) I was ENRAGED! I immediately got on the phone and burned up some ears and got the ball rolling!

    Turns out, they weren't terribly eager to DO *anything* because they gave Terry a "20% chance of /survival/" ("So, why should we do anything", was their thought process! Bastards!) But guess what? They KILLED the tumor in *six weeks*! Then they went on to kill his liver and then kill him! It almost feels like they were mad that someone forced them to do the *right* thing, so they retaliated! Not really, but sort of...

    I'm an action kind of person, so if there is an action that *can* be taken or *should* be taken, I want it done!

    **subtly encouraged by Dumbasf*** to promote his "Greater Good" agenda as once proposed during his planning with Grindelwald for ruling over the "muggles" for "[our] own good".

    I get the warning that it's going to maybe get worse than here, but only if someone lets slip to Dumbasf***!

    Okay, Hidden Major Plotline "game":

    The Cruciatus Curse sends electrical-like impulses to *all* the nerves in the body --sort of like having a full-body cattle prod touching every single nerve ending in the body-- including the electrical synapses in the brain, not unlike the original electro-shock therapy.

    Elias nerves and muscles are reacting as though they're *still* being stimulated, like a full-body "Tens Unit" set on high with intermittent and randomized area settings.

    So, might connecting Elias to some form of electrical conduit to *pull* the remaining electrical impulses out of his body reverse the effect? Or might exposing him to an area of high electrical concentration increase his core and rejuvenate his nerves and synapses?

    I knew that the research that Harry/Elias began into electricity's correlation to magic was going to turn out to be of vital importance.

    Wasn't the research that Grindelwald was doing on mundane and magical prisoners at Nurmengard of a similar nature? I know the Nazis (and the British and Americans) did similar experiments in the concentration camps and the two were working together.

    Well, let me know how close I came.

    I couldn't have stood hearing Elias begging me to take him home! It broke *me* and I'm not his father!
    If I'd have been Severus, I'd have called an elf to take a letter of Leave/Sabbatical or Resignation to the whiskered wanker. Called for Dobby (I'm sure he's still loyal to Harry no matter the changes!) to come and ready Spinner's End with certain changes to accommodate a very sick child. Called a Hogwarts elf to pack up his Professor's quarters and labs and take them to Spinner's End. Asked St. Mungos if they had a service that provided Home Nursing care, possibly full-time, and told the staff at St. Mungos to ready my child for discharge!
    Between Severus, Remus, Dobby (and possibly Winky), and any Home Care Nurse I'm sure they could care for Elias just as well as St. Mungos!

    The Janus Thickey Ward is where they *WAREHOUSE* people when there's no hope for recovery, like Neville's parents! No way is my CHILD being put there!

    BTW, If the Super Secret Awesome Hidden Major Plotline does turn out to be a form of electrical cure for Elias I bet it would work for the Longbottoms too! 🤞

    I'm so glad Severus trusted the Gryffindorks! You said in an earlier AN that this next arc would be "chaos"; I sure hope that doesn't mean that Sirius is going to do something stupid!

    I knew that Fulgur was Latin for lightning from looking up fulgurites; the glass tubes formed when lightning strikes the ground or sand. Nice concept there, DP!

    So, perhaps a higher dose of the Fulgur potion or maybe dripping it directly on Elias' scar?

    I love that Frank and Alice seem attuned to what Elias is experiencing! This is the first story I've read that has the Longbottoms up and mobile; usually, it's only Alice giving Neville a candy wrapper. I love the stories where a cure is found and they at least get to be with Neville.
    You notice that Rowling only uses them as a plot point of sympathy for Neville but never cares enough to mention them again.
    Y'all may love her but her series makes me afraid for her children!🤨

    Oh, darn; I really hoped we'd get to the trial before where you stopped!

    Gosh, what a messed-up situation Sev has! It's so close to how rl is sometimes it's scary.

    Sev *was* negligent, taking the word of a notoriously barmy and manipulative old goat buggerer about his child! Ain't *no way* I'm letting the bitch who *hated* MY and *her own sister's* guts and tormented throughout our childhoods take custody of MY son!

    Sev must have been really screwed up! But then, when things began to settle down to not even think about going to visit?!

    I have my own horror story about when my ex (of over 5 years at the time) husband *stole* my 6-year-old son and used the corruption --that's rampant in case you weren't aware; it makes the MoM look tame!-- in the local TN court system and family connections to make it legal! That's why I can sit here and want to warn Sev *not* to count his chickens!

    In 2000, I naively thought we had a pretty good Family Court System that worked by Rules of Evidence and was supposed to work for the "good of the child". I was wrong.

    Anyhoo, I'm invested in this story and am really eager to see what your solutions to some of the 'snarls' existing in Sev's life and what can be done to help Harry recover.

I know the old arsewipe has one! I'm only hoping that Severus can look beyond Harry's parentage and see the abused and neglected *child* and figure out what the agenda is before it's too late!

    Love the story and am looking forward to reading more of it if you ever get a chance or are in the mood to continue it. I find the story to be heartbreaking, but the premise of Harry as part Elf is delightful!

    But I find the very idea of pushing the agenda of the very recent divisive myth of "Toxic Masculinity" repugnant and insulting toward *half* of the population on our planet!

    The truth is there are *Men* and then there are *Abusive Male Bullies*! Gender stereotyping is another malignant push by TPTB to place more *divisions* in our culture and to distract from *their* "power grab" and attempts to ENSLAVE US ALL! These divisions make it much easier to /take *away*/ our RIGHTS and FREEDOMS when couched in the language of "righting wrongs" and so-called "inclusions"!

    Do you really believe that burning down *Black Owned* businesses and destroying predominately *Black* neighborhoods and services (hospitals, clinics, and Fire & Rescue) is *in the "best" interests* of *working-class* black families? The *same* folks PAYING BLM to do that are the ones who *coined* the phrase "Toxic Masculinity"!

    Those same oligarchs are the ones behind Planned Parenthood and it's no mistake or happenstance that puts PP clinics smack dab in the middle of those same predominately black neighborhoods!

    Women were making great strides towards "gender equality" right up until the mid-'80s when those same oligarchs got into the act and started subverting the movement! I *watched* helplessly, as these basturds started pushing the ideas that "Girls Gone Wild", being sexually promiscuous, and *single* teenage motherhood meant *girls* and women were supposedly "Liberated"! WTF?!

    While on the other side of the "gender divide" these *same folks* were publishing hateful diatribes *against* "Women's Liberation"! While *at the same time* they were also pushing the LGBTQ separatist agenda!

    Instead of *inclusion* "they" were pushing "tolerance" which is a "hold your nose and accept"; the exact opposite of "inclusion"!

    I was born and raised in So. Cal., L.A. County. I was raised "color blind" and *nobody* I knew CARED if someone was black or white or Asian or gay or straight or male or female when it came to homeownership or hiring! It wasn't until I moved to E.TN, in 1987, that I saw my 1st "Help Wanted - Male"/female classified job ad! But it wasn't until I briefly moved to Jacksonville, FL for work purposes, that I ran into "reverse racism" for the very 1st time!

    That was when I began to realize that there were "undercurrents" at work in our society/country working *very* hard to keep us divided instead of united against the common threat of the "New World Order" oligarchs.

    "Toxic Masculinity" is just a new way for them to divide us! I've actually met many more "Toxic Females" than "Toxic Males" in my life. There are both male and female *sociopaths*: Narsissistic *people* whose main thrust in their lives is to have everyone's attention on *them* and believe they have a *right* to whatever *they want*! They want *their way* and woe betide anyone or anything that stands between them and what they want!

    Labeling "Toxic Personality Disorder" with a gender appellation is divisive and demeaning! I've seen more couples where the *women* wear the "pants" in the family and the men just say "Yes, Dear" than the other way around.

    I'm 59 years old and I've been "awake and aware" since the early '80s, but where being "A & A" is inclusive, "Woke-ism" is divisive. The last thing we need right now is more things to exclude and divide us! We're fighting an enemy that wants to quash the Individual and eliminate the Devine. We're *all* God's children except some individuals who are fighting against us from a much *lower* region.

    Vernon Dursley is a Narcissistic *Abusive Bully* with the agenda to demean, degrade, and grind down someone smaller and weaker than him! It's HIS, individual, sick, twisted, and evil power trip and is, in no way, representative of *all* MEN!

    He and those few like him have *chosen* to either re-enact *their* upbringing OR he's just a sadistic repressed pedophile who again, has CHOSEN this method to perpetrate his *rage* at being prevented from doing what he *really* wants, against a child!

    I've read case histories that perfectly exemplify "Vernon Dursley" and those professionals *never* labeled these people with "Toxic Masculinity"! The term is an *agenda* and *not* a psychologically accurate Personality Disorder.

    I don't know if this is going to let me respond, but I really hope it does.

    Vernon Dursley is a toxic individual raising his son to be a bully and actively treating his nephew who is not human and will not ever be actively showing an expressively masculine physique as though he is garbage because he sees him A: as a freak of nature for being non-human, magical being, and B: as a freak for not conforming to the stereotypical gender norms assigned to males. I have seen this so so so many times growing up from the other side that it made me fearful for my own life when I came out as bisexual to my own family.

    This entire story is going to be based on many of my own experiences growing up. So if you see it as "Toxic Masculinity," feel free to do so. Just remember, I put my experiences into my stories. Also, this will very much be a pro-trans rights story as it was started during Pride Month. Also, because I'm continually pissed at JKR over her entire take on this issue.

    I could go on a very very long rant about how I thoroughly disagree with a huge amount of what you are saying, but this is not the appropriate site to do so on, nor is this the appropriate fic to do so on, NOR would it benefit anyone in the long run. Just ... please keep your politics out of reviews? Please? Is that too much to ask?

    Now, I've had a very long week dealing with the joys of working in a hospital overrun with COVID patients and the insanity that brings. I'm going back into my hole and writing what brings me joy. And responding to political rants on a fanfiction site does not bring me joy.
