Lakhesis is a twenty-something maths professor who'd like to say that she's not dirt poor, and that she really can afford to go back to school for her Ph.D. sooner than half-a-decade-at-the-least. But that's not true, because she went and got herself disowned, idiot that she is.

She's a former Ravenclaw-who-could-have-been-Slytherin; the Sorting Quiz at personalitylab gave her the scores H:09; G:12; S:96; R:98. She'd apparently make a very bad Hufflepuff.

English is her third language, and though she thinks she's probably "fluent" by now, she's insecure about her grammar; please, if she screws something up, let her know.

She first read the Harry Potter books in the Spanish editions when they came out, because she didn't speak more than a few sentences in English at the time, and because she figured it couldn't be all that different from Latin, right? She was dead wrong, but now she can read Spanish, if not speak it. After much confusion, and a re-reading in English when she learnt it well enough, she fell in love with - um, she doesn't really know, actually. Immortals know she can criticise the series to no end, whether about stereotypes, or how the magical community is more immature than your average Muggle eight-year-old; 'Diagon Alley', really. There ought to have been more world-building, stronger characterisations, where there are shades of grey, rather than simple black and white, and a million other things. Because that's what she considers important.

But in any case, she loves the series, even if half the time she wants to strangle JKR. The other half of the time, she wants to hug her, and that makes it all okay.
