About me:

Hola everyone.  I'm Toady.

Uh...I guess I'm not sure what to put.  I like reading HP fanfiction (haven't written any of my own yet), I like to write, and I love snowmobiling.  Summer and winter are tied for my favorite season for this reason.

What else?  One of my biggest pet peeves that I will hope will soon be rectified (because I noticed this in a LOT of stories) is the verb tenses of spin.

For future reference, SPAN is NOT an acceptable use for this!  For example, Harry span around.  Span is a distance, the span of an irrigation system, the span of a bridge.  It is not, repeat, NOT a verb form of spin.

The verb forms of spin are (with examples):

Present spin: I spin around to stare at Ron. (for this matter, spins, as in: He spins around to look at me with his mouth hanging open.)

Past spun: Harry spun around quickly, a look of understanding on his face.

Past participle spun: Snape had spun around to stare at incredulously at his class, even as he snarled, "Any more inane questions from our resident peanut gallery?  Then what are you waiting for?  Get to work!"

Please, help me get the word out about the 'Span Conspiracy'.  It may not be life or death, but it's incredibly annoying to be reading a really good story, only to be interrupted by improper grammar.

OK, moment (or five) of ranting over, I'm available for beta requests, but I might turn you down depending on how much I have going on.
