When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

So Sad Now Harry's kidnapping and torture will come to fruition. And Snape is going to maybe eventually feel guilty over his departure.
I sure hope this doesn't mean the end is drawing near. It looks like a lot of readers are invested in this relationship you have written.

Yes, Hunter totally should have bitten him! Maybe he still will... Although if it is actually Remus, then that wouldn't be good either, so...hmm. I have about two weeks (HP time, not our time) worth of story to tell before the end, but don't hold me to that, as I'm more focused on telling the story I want to tell than making sure it fits into a specific timeframe. So we're approaching the last parts of my story (sorry!) but never fear, there is still plenty story left to tell. Thank you for the review and I'm so so happy you're still enjoying the story!

Author's Response: Thanks!! I'm having a lot of fun writing it. :) We are at the climax of the story now, and then I will take however long I need to wrap things up and wind the story down. I have no intention of continuing the story into the school year except to get them settled in the new year. I do have some ideas for a sequel, but I don't know for sure if I will pen one yet. I'm focused on getting this story done and then taking a break, and then I'll see if the mood strikes. :)

- What a happy surprise to see your update! I was wondering if after that last chapter we might get another from Snape's pov. Because of course we were left bereft! Poor Sweet Harry all of the adults are failing him again. And we see that addiction looming. I hope he gives Snape and Remus hell someday. But really Dumbledore and Minerva are just as bad. I expect a bit from a headmaster and head of house. But,,, it seems this story isn't ending soon so I am grateful!;;
Author's Response: I think Snape's POV was a one-time thing. I have considered a Snape POV epilogue, but I'm leaning towards simply telling the rest from Harry's POV. Too much split POV and Snape loses some of his mystery. ;) Thanks so much for the review!!

It has been a long time and I forget how to request alerts or Pm.
I admit that I thought the final chapter was going to be Kneader's POV.
I think we need to see Snape able to say and to know he loves Harry.

Thank you!! It was a long and amazing journey, for sure! When I post the sequel, I'll definitely post it here and on FF. Most likely on AO3 too, even though I didn't post there until the end of OME. I figure if it's being read by at least one person on each site, then why not? ;)
Definitely, I want to get to the point where Snape can say out loud that he loves Harry. I'm hoping it will feel natural enough by sometime during OME2 for him to get there. :)
