Many years ago, Severus promised Lily he would take care of her child. One Christmas Eve, after a particularly bad Occlumency lesson, he gets a ghostly visit from her, furious that he broke his promise, and determined to make him see how much her son needs him. Loosely based on A Christmas Carol. Will contain "A Christmas Vow" and its sequel "A Christmas Pledge". For Potions and Snitches this holiday season. One shot, completed. Harry is stuck at Hogwarts during the winter holidays, and notices that something has been disappearing. He decides to investigate.
