    Awww... poor Harry. He almost seemed like a poor, small, trapped animal. It was horrible. Snape knew just how to get to him.

    It seems a lot of people are reading this story, so I thought I'd give it a shot also!

    You've got a really good setup here. It's a bit more original with Harry staying friends with Ron instead of buddying up with Draco right away. I like that.

    Also, I like how you show Snape's vulnerabilities. I can believe that he while he keeps himself shielded, Dumbledore is the only one who can get to him. It's sad. Poor Snape.

    But I have to say that Harry most definitely does not sound like an 11-year-old child. He sounds at least 15, if not older. I understand that he's probably had a hard life and grown up quickly, yet his thought process still sounds too old to be believable.

    But you've got a lot more chapters for me to read, so I'll stick with it!

    I'm curious to see what's next!

I wanted to say that I agree with you completely about Harry seeming a too old, even for the difficulties he's faced, but this was the character Harry wanted to be at the moment (he seems more realistic later, I think.)     Lol so are we talking a 2 weekly update here instead? I would love to see what else your muse can come up with seeing as this one is so good, loved this chapter with Harrys' response to Snape telling him he cared about and didnt want him to die...maybe he is softening towards Snape just s little bit lol :D

It might be a bit more, 'cause my other story is probably gonna be more difficult to write than that, but that's the goal. :0) Anyway, glad you liked the chapter, and hope you like the new fic. I won't give you any hints, other than that it is coming out in a week or so and should be quite different from this one. Thanks for the review! :0)

    I think as it has only been two months since school started that Harry is 'caving' into Snape too soon. Perhaps by Christmas he should have started feeling guilty about scaring Snape but after only two months no; way too soon for a child as angry and scarred by previous adults behavior. It seems unrealistic and forced in order to move the story along. Perhaps it would have been better to come up with your own new plot instead of the troll at Halloween--not everything has to remain canon as so much has already been changed.

    Author's Response: Eh, maybe. Problem is, 2 months seems too short, but 140,000 words seems like too long. I've had people say it was getting too long, too. Plus Harry hasn't caved entirely. I'm also trying to follow canon other than things changed by things established at the beginning of the fic. (i.e Harry being a Slytherin, worse abuse and different reaction to it, and Harry being a metamorphmagus and capable of wandless magic.) The rest is meant to stem from that. Since the troll thing stemmed from something RON did, not Harry, I figured it was likely to happen in my fic, too. Plus I just like it. Sorry if you don't, and thanks for the polite review, even if it wasn't the most positive.

    Harry and his friends should have told an adult, true, but Hermione most likely would have died if they had, so I'm glad that they decided to look for her. There simply wasn't time to search for an adult, so they did the only thing they could and fought the troll. I'm glad that the punishment wasn't too harsh. I hope that Severus will be able to protect Blaise from his guardians. I would hate for him to be forced to take the mark, as it is clear that he has no interest in it.

    As long as you don't ditch this story, I guess I can (haha, what choice do I have, hmm) accept it. Maybe. Kind of.

    This is my favorite Snape/Harry story I think ever besides Aspeninthesunlight's a Year Like No Other. Please finish it as you say you will, because it's amazing and I love it.

    Eurgh, Blaise's aunt. :/ And poor Harry, CRYING. Whoa. I am glad he is realizing he likes Snape or cares about him. I'm kind of expecting him to do something because he knows he shouldn't. Well, thinks he shouldn't.

    Any hints on what your new story will be like? I'm pretty excited about it since this story of yours is so amazing.

    Author's Response: LOL...thanks for your permission. I do care what you guys think of me releasing a new story, actually. I'm hoping you'll read it, after all! But yeah, I don't really have a choice about whether to write it or not, so you guys don't really either. Sorries. Yeah I agree with you on the 'eurgh' about Blaise's guardians. They remind me vaguely of the Dursleys, somehow. And yeah, the kids in this chapter don't have the easiest time, all in all.     Man, this story is just SOOOOOOOOOO amazing! I feel so sorry for Harry! And I feel really bad for Blaise too - what an awful situation! I can't wait for the next chapter!

    Wow I don't like Blaise's family. Poor kids grounded for the week. I liked the costume Harry had on with Draco in a tutu, that was funny and Gryffindor Snape was awesome. Keep up the good work and please update ASAP. :)
