Arrrrg! Cliffies, I can't stand cliffies! I loved this chapter and all, but you're driving me crazy! *hears voice that says 'what do you mean driving?' and glowers at it.* Kudos on a well written chapter (btw, Draco said 'sharl' not shark. Just thought to point that out.)
I do hope that they will all be alright. I wonder if it would be possible to 'convince' the shark to go away somehow? At least the calvary is on the way, guided by a dolphin...

I do not love Smidgen. I stopped reading this story for a long time because of her. A Magical Flying Telepathic Fairy Cat - good grief. When I do read this fic it is *despite* Smidgen. I saw a ray of hope when you almost killed her off - but no - she had to live.
Other than the Magical Flying Telepathic Fairy Cat, this chapter was pretty good. Titania is quite the cardboard character, but I suppose that's standard treatment for a deus ex machina (ex arcana?) who swoops in at the last possible second to save the day.
Author's Response: Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Smidgen's importance as a character was established way back in the first book, so if you didn't like her then, I'm surprised you bothered reading this. I see nothing wrong with a telepathic cat that flies, it's a fae animal, and that's a major basis of this fic. Secondly, it was always intended that Harry NOT face Voldemort in this fic, because why should the burden fall always on his shoulders? It's ridiculous. A fourteen year old boy up against an experienced dark wizard who has terrified every adult wizard now living? It's the obvious tack and I had planned for Harry's fae allies to intervene way back in the chapter that he received the brooch, otherwise why bother giving him that particular object? Dumbledore should have gotten off his arse and finished off Voldemort in the beginning, instead of allowing a child to do his job. Since he didn't, Titania did, and settled a long awaited score at the same time. Because what's the point of having powerful relatives and a connection to another world if you don't take advantage of that fact and use them? I also used them to show the deep family bond they share, Harry is blood, and family defends family. And there has to be another way to destroy Voldie other than the typical Horcrux route, which has been done and re-done, and which I did not want to use in this story at all. Again, if you don't like the way this is headed, why bother to read it?
Oh, oh... trouble seems to find Harry and the gang no matter what they do! I do hope they'll be OK and rescue will find them soon.
Excellent chapter but did you have to leave us with a cliffhanger? :) And bored?!?! of course not, I'm so looking forward to their summer adventure... Great work!

How did I know that they would end up in a situation like this? Harry's luck has struck once again! I do hope that they will all be alright and will find a safe place to ride out the rest of the storm. Perhaps they will discover an old smuggler's hideaway? :D
