Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: It isn't impossible, but definitely improbable. I know Sev won't step foot into that office without taking some precautions first. I think Dumbledore is aware he's lost a battle or two. Thanks!
Great chapter! Welcome back. Author's Response: I'm sure the Order will watch Dumbledore's actions and words closer now. They don't know everything that is going on, but I'm sure they have suspicions as to what Severus was sending to Dumbledore across the table. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the war effort for the Order will proceed after this. Thanks!
You have such a good grasp of all the little details that go along with a serious illness like this. Great job again! Author's Response: I'm sure Harry will feel up to playing with his snitch sometimes. He can't feel horrible all the time, though this first week of chemo is rough on him. I'm so happy to hear that you think I've got a good grasp on the little details because those are what make stories believable, and that's one of my goals for this story. Thanks!
Looking forward to the next chapter; I like Flurry. Author's Response: Flurry is one likable little kitty. Then again, how can anyone not like a cute little white cat? Harry and Sev are still adjusting to each other and the situation. I'm sure as Harry learns he can trust Severus, things will go more smoothly between them.
The one good thing is that he does have Severus now. And Severus was just perfect here. He was strong and comforting, yet honest. It's hard for Harry to believe and accept still, but Severus is extremely loyal and dedicated. I know he'll be there for Harry and help him through this awful time. Excellent writing! Author's Response: Thanks so much! In canon, it's amazing how Harry never really seems to suffer emotionally despite everything he goes through. I wanted to really delve into his psyche and develop his mental side and show the effects of what's he's been forced to endure. I'm happy to hear Severus was perfect here. He really had to step up this chapter and you're right about him being honest. Lying here wouldn't have done anything to help the tentative trust developing here.
Personally, if I were Harry, I'd probably by relieved to the first dose done while I was unconscious...heck I might like to stay unconscious throughout it all! But I can also see that having some control over the situation, even just a tiny bit, is very important to Harry and it might be difficult for him that Severus made the decision without him. So I don't know how he'll feel about it. Great chapter! Author's Response: Yes, we're getting to the nitty-gritty of the treatments. It won't be easy for Harry, but luckily he has Sev there to help him. I'd be relieved, too. Control is a sensitive subject with Harry. His life has pretty much been planned out by others and so it's hard for him to give up what small control he possesses. It'll take some time for him to get used to a person actually making decisions for him that has his best interest in mind. Thanks!
Author's Response: I get cookies? Wow, thanks! I'm sure you know by now what happened in the meeting. I hope my update was quick enough for you. Thanks!
Author's Response: I'm happy to hear you loved Flurry. I would say I hope you enjoy the rest, but I see you already have. ;)
Author's Response: I haven't forgotten about the story. It's just set aside for the moment until I can get my writing sample perfected for my grad apps which is turning out to be harder than I originally thought since I picked a very difficult excerpt to tackle. *sighs* Hopefully I'll get it done within the next few days so I'll have time to work on this story again. Thanks!
Severus really is wonderful now with Harry, that's so good to see. Author's Response: Flurry was always going to originally be Lily's. I couldn't imagine Sev ever picking out a white fluffy cat for himself. lol. He may be softening, but he's not a white kitty type. |
