Reviews For When the Boat Comes In
I wonder though, did you intentionally have Harry act young in your mind when you wrote this? I know that children who have been denied a parental figure sometimes regress a little. Sort of making up for what they missed. Congrats on a great story, looking forward to reading more. regards jay. Author's Response: Thanks for the review ^^ As you've suggested, Harry does regress into the behaviour of a younger child, especially under highly stressful circumstances. In the last few chapters, this is especially pronounced as Harry has just lost Voldemort's soul shard; that nasty little voice is no longer disparaging him and, therefore, Harry is slightly off-balance and, as he's considerably more confident in his emotions, he's rather needy and does not scruple to conceal it. Also, Harry has Draco as a role model and Draco acts rather younger than his years around his parents, especially his doating Dad. However, Harry often acts with a maturity which is far greater than his years, (i.e. his sentiments towards Ron when 'Scabbers' died), so he's a mixture, like most abused children.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; Harry's had a rather eventful half-term, hasn't he?
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; although it was a false alarm in a sense, it teaches Harry to value his abilities and is proof that the horcrux is totally gone.
And hurray for Hagrid, who'll get the chance to become an educated wizard and the (responsible...) owner of a dragon! Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hagrid's luck has definately changed for the better ^^
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Yes, Hissy can teach someone a language in seconds but, if it knocked a highly-trained, naturally-skilled legilimens like Severus sideways, you can imagine what sort of strain it would place on Harry's unexercised, developing mind. Just because a strong-man can lift 380kg doesn't mean a child will also be able to do so.
Author's Response: Thanks: Harry and Reggie's hysterics were intended to be sad, cute, and, as they are hysterics, also somewhat funny. However, I find it even more amusing to imagine's Severus's face when confronted with two wailing hatchlings lol ^^
I'm glad that Hagrid might not have to give up Norbert this time. It would be a terrible loss for him if he did. With the support of Severus and the children, I am sure that they will find a way for his dragon to stay. Great chapter! Author's Response: Thanks for the review; Yup, Hagrid gets to be a dragon mummy and Harry will, in time, be able to speak Parseltongue again ^^ As you suggest, the waiting will be hard but Harry will soon discover that learning via legilimancy is not the most easy of methods.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hope you enjoy the next few chapters- there's plenty more twists and turns to come ^^
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; I hope you enjoy the next chapter- the first 'subchapter' concerns Harry's first lesson.
Author's Response: Thanks: I'm really glad to know that ^^ |
